Student experience at NIE Mysore

I got admitted to the college through kcet. After the results, we have to apply for different colleges and different courses through the kcet portal. Based on ranking and reservation they will allot a college. I got allocated to the national institute of engineering for electronics and communication branch with an unaided seat. After the allotment, we have to take a printout of the allotment receipt after that we have to go to the college for document submission and verification. Then we have to pay the fees which have been mentioned in the allotment receipt. After that, they will give the registration number and we have to collect the receipt after 15 days they will give the University registration number. These are the process involved in admission.

I chose this course because it has wide application compared to other branches. In the electronic and communication branch, we can avail benefits with both software and hardware field. Coming to faculties, as with any other college, our college has also a good number of lectures. And there are very supportive. But when it comes to teaching some of the faculty are the best, In our college, we have 3 tests and one sem end exam. All the tests are conducted according to the calendar of events.no delay in that. And the difficulty of the exam is moderate ( not too easy and not too hard). In our college, the best 2 out of 3 tests are considered. This is the added advantage. These are about the exams.

After completing the 6th semester all the students are eligible for placement. Our college is one of the most visited colleges by companies in Mysore. The company that visits our college are hello doc, TCS, Samsung, SimpleTech, Sandvine, saber, etc. The average package offered to our students is around 7 to 8 LPA. I got placed in two companies with 7lpa and 9lpa. I chose tcs company. Most of our friends are placed in good company with good packages. The highest package offered is 34 LPA. Before starting the 7th sem only 70 percent of our classmates are placed. After the degree, I plan to take industry experience in a good way and become an expert in my domain

When it comes to fees hike every year around 1000 rs will be increased. But our college doesn't take any extra charges as compared to other colleges in our city. For unaided seats, only the fee is around 60000, but other colleges are taking around 100000 for unaided seats. Our college provides the best scholarship opportunities. Firstly we will get our tuition fees back with the vidyasiri scholarship that is offered by Karnataka state. But some conditions will be there ( like income should be less ). Another scholarship is a national scholarship which gives around 10000 every year to merit students. These are government provide scholarships. Students can also apply for private scholarships. Our college also supports taking the private scholarship.

When it comes to the fest, our college conducts an annual fest called techNIE. It's the famous annual fest which will be conducted for 2 days. And no class will be held during the festival. Most celebrities will come for this event and it's one of the most famous events in Mysore. The last day will be DJ night where DJs from outside countries will be invited. Not only these but more fest is also conducted by the clubs. We have a tech club called techIEEE, we have geeks for geeks club that will conduct a tech fest. We have a dancing club, we have a singing club, etc. When it comes to sports and extracurricular activities our college support all the students to take part in all the activities. We have a good Play ground for different sports, we have an indoor stadium for different indoor Games. Our college conducts different fest to showcase students' other abilities.
