Candidates should have passed PCM with 60% and above in 12th. Candidates can visit the college website veltech.edu.in or can get updates from collegedunia itself. Just want to add that my college should advertise itself on a national level for more exposure.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I am a student from PCM and had an interest in electronics so I pursued B.tech in ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering). In my batch the total student enrolled was somewhere around 500. Teaching was good as we had smart teaching methods like smart classrooms. Qualification of faculties was also good. Every professor was master qualified and some were doctorate in their respective fields. The exam was very strict and you need to study in order to pass.
Internships Opportunities
I did an in-house internship at the college itself. But in my college people also received foreign internships and industrial internships. So you need to work and build your skills in order to grab the opportunities. There's a wide range of opportunities and you just need to grab them according to your skill sets.
Placement Experience
Students as soon as they reach the 6 semester their Eligibility for placement begins and it ends till 8th semester/final year. Companies that visited the campus are Amazon, Deloitte, PWC, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, Hexaware, and Capgemini, and almost 500 companies visited including startup organizations. The highest package received was 45 LPA as a Software engineer at Amazon. The percentage of students getting placed is 60% Currently recruited as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant and planned to work and gain experience as now.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees for my course per annum were Rs 105000/year. Good thing was that there was no fee hikes the fees remained constant throughout my 8 semesters that is 4 years. One scholarship scheme that is covered in my college is Vel Tech Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship. And for other financial assistance, I am not aware of it.
Campus Life
The annual tech fest that took place every year in my college is known as LAVAZZA. And the month it is conducted in January. All kinds of books are available in the library and can be issued with ease so no worries regarding that. All types of sports and extracurricular activities are their sports such as cricket, basketball, football, Kapadia and many more facilities are there. There are numerous clubs in our college such as, Arts and Drama clubs. Computer Games club.
