The admission process is based on 12th-class marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. In the case of the absence of chemistry, it is based on the marks of computer science. Marks are counted in this way (2×physics marks + chemistry + maths). Out of 400, for the general category cut-off marks are more than 390 and for the reserved category, it is more than 380 according to the previous year.

The faculty is very good. The faculty members and course curriculum are very good and it is known not only in west Bengal but also in India. There are almost 40 teaching members. They are all well qualified. There are internal exams as well as semester exams. If one attends the classes, it is easy to pass the exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are low, almost 2000/year. There is an arrangement of free studentships. By applying this, the fees are refunded for poor students. Besides this, one can apply for government scholarships like inspire scholarship, or any state scholarship. One can apply for an alumni scholarship. By applying this, one can get up to Rs. 20000/year.

The annual fest is conducted in march/April month tentatively every year in science faculty. There is the availability of a departmental library as well as a central library. There is also an arrangement of sports facilities. Anyone interested in sports like cricket, football, swimming, etc., can apply for it and can play for the university after the selection process.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is very good. There are 2 seaters as well as 4 seaters rooms. Every day there is fish for lunch and chicken at the night. Hostel fees are 2000/month overall. After an application for a hostel, there is an interview process for staying in a hostel. The interview is based on distance from university to home and family incomes.

Placement Experience:

After completing the 5th Semester the student are eligible for placement but the student should have 7.5 CGPA and a good attendence for the palcement after this oncampus placement like TCS, wipro, accenture etc come for placement with a native package of around 6-8 LPA. Which is goood . Nearly as per report around 80% of studentt gets placed every year . After i complete this course i have decide to go master degree in data science which will be benificial for me for international company.

Placement Experience:

Placement or internship depends on the course Duration . Overall placement is good . The highest package is 1cr/ yr. And the average package 2to3 lakh/ yr. After getting the bsc. degree in Forensic science, I want to prepare for compitive exam or prepare for higher studies.

Pros:The teachers very very helpful and friendly. Loans and scholarships available. Faculties are highly qualified. Infrastructure is awesome. Cons: no placement. No stipends There wasn’t any hostel facility. Canteen could be developed.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
