Course Curriculum Overview
Bcom Hons is a very good course as after this a lot of opportunities are open to you u can pursue a professional course, masters or job whatever your wish, or u can sit for banking etc. The faculty of this college is very good the quality of teaching is great, they teach in English of course sometimes when u get comfortable they can speak Hindi and Bengali as well. As you know this college is affiliated with the University of Calcutta, so the exams are conducted by CU. The exams are difficult but yes the syllabus of CU is given very High Importance.
Internships Opportunities
The college no doubt gives a lot of opportunity and a lot of workshops and seminars are hosted for the Placements and internships, in my time it gave an opportunity to visit Grand Taj Hotel there was a seminar held.
Placement Experience
Students can expect the visit of companies from semester 5, in my time Deloitte came and offered a 5 to 6 lacs package though not too many girls are selected yes I have heard PWC also comes. I am focusing on getting a big 4 job right now after getting graduated.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are a little high, though if I compare them to other Tier 1 colleges the fees are ok. They give scholarships even if they upload the form in the student portal, campus jobs are good but not too high. The cost to study is a little high but Kolkata is way more cheaper than any other metropolitan city, also you get to learn a lot from this city if you are an outsider especially.
Campus Life
Our College conducts a very big fest and a very popular one " SRIJAN" This is a cultural fest, stars are also invited here, A/C is provided in classrooms, and classrooms are beautiful and classy no doubt. You will be able to issue books from. Library, a variety of books are there, the college does focus on sports, also inter-college fest happens and most of it invites our college.
Other Applied Colleges
Kristu Jayanti College - [KJC] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] (Professional)
The fees was high and the living cost is high there, also shri shikshayatan was better option for me based on distance and all over facilities.
