GGSIPU CET... MY RANK WAS 7258..... Got no other option so chose this college but now i am satisfied with it
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum was well planned and courses were distributed. There were around 6 theoretical and 4-5 practical subjects every 6 months. As the course progressed number decreased but the importance and relevance increased according the specialization we chose for. If studied regularly, it is manageable task to complete your courses with 75% or more and get placed in a reputed company.
Internships Opportunities
Following were the companies that came/ or we went for Infosys, CSC, Sapient, TCS, L&T, Army Engineering Services, Capital IQ, Birlasoft
Placement Experience
It was nice. There was separate department looking into Placements. Around 70% of eligible students were placed. Following companies came/or we went for Infosys, CSC, Sapient, TCS. Placement for cse or it department are the best but for the redt it is difficult
College Events
Technical: The annual fest GATES and IEEE Day Many participants from other colleges come and overall it's always a positive learning experience or a chance to make your pockets a few thousand rupees heavier. Cultural: all major hindu and sikh festivals: diwali, gurpurbs. The guest list isn't spectacular but the amazing friendly crowd makes the experience enjoyable
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees Structure was bit expensive as compared to other Public Colleges offering B.Tech, but if compared to other colleges in the universities it feasible. Around 50k per year. So in total 2L for the complete courses. The fee structure is affordable by upper-middle-class people. Eighty-six thousand rupees a year to be precise. The college is a bit lax on the date for fee payment so don't need to worry about that. In my opinion, the facilities offered to make the fee justifiable.
Fees and Financial Aid
As our college is not an independent college and it has to respect the laws of GGSIPU, so it doesn't offer any scholarships or loan. It can also be the truth I'm not aware of it
Campus Life
Gender ratios: pretty skewed in ECE/ EEE. A 1:10 Girl to boy ratio. Workshops: many workshops and opportunities to learn through IEEE, TSG and android techies societies. Cultural societies: Divine circle that organises Sikh festivities and "paths"Student diversity: atleast half the students are from the sikh community. Most people are accepting of others and friendly. I don't feel like you ever have had a fight over differing view points. When friends, some sikhs might not mind criticism of their religion. Obviously. Sardar jokes aren't tolerated. Being a DSGMC institute, sikh men are expected to wear a turban.
Hostel Facilities
There are no on-campus hostels but being in the heart of Rajouri garden there are many PGs at a stone's throw. PGs are available right next to the college campus, opposite to it, near hari Nagar or even near J block market. The average rental is 3-4 Thousand per person. Many flats are also available in this area.
Exam Structure
Exam Structure Per Semester 2 Sessional Exams having 10% each weightage, 1 External exam having 75% of weightage. There are 3 exam cycles per semester which is quite tiring. 2 sessional exams and one final semester exam. In addition to this, we have practical exams.
Admission
GGSIPU CET, IIT JEE, BITSAT, B.Tech was very popular at that time and being a nonmedical student. I was really interested in coding and all. Got good rank in CET result and got admission in Computer Science Engineering branch.
Faculty
Faculty was really nice and experienced. Some of them were Ph.D. They were helpful and always ready extra sessions if required. Even in the lab, they focused on every basic knowledge. It was a good experience with dem. Good faculty rating
