Course Curriculum Overview
I had chosen Btech in Information Technology because I had a deep interest in coding, software related stuff and wanted to make my career in that field. Faculty to student ratio is not up to the mark there is always a shortage of teachers and a lack of good-quality teachers. Most of the faculty are Guest Faculty. Permanent Faculty and Good Quality faculties are limited. Some faculties are highly qualified which reflects in their teaching method also but there are some faculties also who are highly knowledgeable but they are not able to deliver it to the students. There are some of those faculties also who just teach to fulfilling their job, they don't have deep knowledge. Till last year there used to be 1 mid-semester exam per semester but to make the examination process more disciplinary from session 2022, there are 2 mid-semester exams which means 4 mid sem exams and 2 end-semester exams in a year. Scoring marks here in hbtu is quite easy with a decent level of study. Marking is student-friendly.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are made available to the students of a few branches not all. Mostly provided to CSE and IT students for software developer intern roles and to the students of Chemical and mechanical and electronics for research and core Engineering roles.
Placement Experience
Students in hbtu become eligible for placements with the commencement of the final year which means with the start of the seventh semester they take part in the placement procedure. Companies like Paytm, PhonePe, Josh, Flipkart, Microsoft, Hero Moto Corp, Jio, Airtel, and Samsung have visited our college and given good offers. If in case good companies don't visit then we have the option to apply off-campus thanks to our alumni network because our college is 100 years old so we have an immense alumni network. The highest package was offered by Microsoft 46 LPA for Software developer Engineers (SDE) and the average was around 7-8 LPA. For CSE and IT it was a 10-11 LPA average. My plans after getting my degree is to take placements and then start my own business or prepare for UPSC.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our annual fee is 135000 (excluding the hostel and mess) from the second year onwards it goes down to 127500 as some one-time fees are not included from the second year onwards. Students here in hbtu apply for scholarships given by Uttar Pradesh Government and most students have benefitted also. HBTU also provides a feature of Fee Waiver seats to those students who are financially weak and get good ranks in JEE Mains. In our college, we get proper placements and internship opportunities for branches like Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Chemical engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, and for rare branches like Paint Technology, and Food Technology. In branches like Electrical, Civil, and Biochemical placements are not up to the mark, and no proper internship opportunities.
Campus Life
Our technical fest is Technika, our Sports fest Is Aagaaz and our biggest fest is our cultural fest Adhyaay. Before Covid, they were organized in the months of November and December but post covid they were organized in the months of May and June. The library of Hbtu is the biggest with 10000 books of all genres. All subject books are available in our library. Our classrooms are provided with smart boards some classes have air conditioners also but they don't work( government college for a reason). Sports activities are not up to the mark on campus but extracurricular activities are top notch including poetry, drama, quizzes, art, etc. There are various clubs being run by students for each domain be it coding, robotics, dance, singing, etc. There are councils and societies which are managed by students. Their respective social media handles are there on Instagram, Twitter, etc.
