I wrote CAT in the year 2013 and scored a 99.20 percentile. I opted for this college because of many factors - the brand name IIT has, Return on Investment (only 4 lakh fee), strategic location of the college (Delhi-NCR), faculty (all of them PhDs), small batch size (lesser competition), placement records (one of the best in the country) etc. The admission process consisted of shortlisting based on the profile and the score in CAT. Post that there is a GD round followed by a PI round.

The course structure of the college is in sync with the industry demands. Infact DMS, IIT Delhi revamped their curriculum for the batch of 2017 and onwards after going through a rigorous process of selecting the courses with changing times. The college offers a plethora of elective subjects which the students can take based on their liking and area of interest. The faculty at DMS are among the best in the country. All of them are PhDs and they are highly dedicated towards management research. Stanford University ranks DMS, IIT Delhi as the 2nd best institute in terms of management research after IIM Bangalore.

The college provides summer placement opportunities which is a part of all B-schools. Apart from the 2 month summer internship opportunities students at DMS have the advantage of going for one month winter internship too during the semester break. The companies visiting the campus for these internships are across various domains are the top notch names in the industry. The average stipend is really good.

The placement at DMS, IIT Delhi is one of the best in the country. The kind of profiles and roles offered to the students are the most coveted ones. The number of companies visiting the campus are plenty across the domains of Consulting, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Strategy etc. The institute boasts of 100% placements year after year. For the year 2013-2015 30% of the batch got PPO/PPI. The average CTC (top 25%) was a little above 16 lpa.

IIT Delhi is place where events keep happening round the year. At the department level we have the annual conclaves called Op'Era (Operations), Confluence (Marketing & Finance), Horizon (HR), Strategia (IT & Consulting). Then we have Parivartan - the annual cultural cum business festival of DMS, IIT Delhi. The footfall for Parivartan 2015 was close to 5000. Also, there is an annual business summit called Building India Inc. which is the flagship event of our department where we invite the eminent leaders from all walks of life. People like Sam Pitroda, Vineet Nayar, Rajat Sharma, Jawhar Sircar have graced the BII. At the central level we have the famous Rendezvous, Literati, SpicMacay, Esperenza etc. These festivals are organised at a grand scale and participants from across the country visit the campus.

The fees structure of DMS, IIT Delhi is one of the most attracting features for B-school aspirants. The total fees is 4 lacs for the 2 year full time program. The hostel fees is included in the course fees. The mess charges are around sixteen thousand per semester and the food quality is above average. There are various food joints inside the campus too to satisfy the taste buds.

There are a plenty of scholarships that are available for students. SBI scholar loan schemes and Canara Bank provide loans to students at a very nominal rate of interest. The EMIs are lower too.

Campus life is the high point of the institute. The gender diversity is not so great. With every year it keeps on improving though. There are multiple grounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, indoor sports facility for the students. Also, every hostel has their own indoor sports facility. Lot of competitions keep happening around the year.

The hostel rooms are neat and clean. Students are allotted rooms on first come first serve basis. The lucky ones get a single room of their own and most of the students have to share their room with another student.

The alumni network of IIT Delhi is vast. They are always there to help and reach out to the campus when needed. At various alumni meets they come with their families and bond with their batchmates and the current students. They are indeed very helpful.
