IIFT turning point of my life

Due to the fact that IIFT has received AACSB accreditation from AACSB international and is one of the few colleges in India offering degrees in international business, it establishes a monopoly in the field because so few students would have a USP and a promising future. For one semester, there are 1:20 instructors to students at IIFT. Faculty members have doctorates in the fields in which they teach at IIFT from foreign universities. Academics with extensive industrial experience make up IIFT. The technique of instruction is centered on interactions between teachers and students in the classroom. Based on the material covered in the course, group projects and case presentations are assigned so that students can learn about applications.

Students start to be eligible for campus placements in their fifth semester. Microsoft, Dabur, JP Morgan Chase and Company, Goldman Sachs, and DE Shaw are a few of the well-known businesses that were visited. No, there were 200 offers made. The average package is Rs. 22 lakhs and the biggest package offered is Rs. 80 lakhs. Finance, Sales and Marketing, Consulting, International Business, IT, Analytics, and Trade are among the available profiles. Every single kid was placed. Following graduation, I want to work for a reputable international business company.

The academic costs for IIFT are about 18 lakhs for two years. Compared to other IIMs and private MBA colleges, it is less expensive. The central government offers scholarships to minority students, and the state governments of West Bengal and West Bengal offer them to students. IIFT pays the interest on the loan for other students. SC and ST students are entitled to a fee reduction of 50%. The return on investment is greater than that of other colleges when taking into account the average placement of Rs. 22 Lakh and the cost to attend IIFT, which is about Rs. 22 Lakh. Since I am a candidate for the EWS, IIFT has offered financial aid, which includes paying my interest on loans for my studies.

The annual techno-management festival, called VIVAAN, takes place in October. Industry leaders engage in a live debate on contemporary topics in Vivaan IIFT alumni. Research papers and other books are available at the library and can be checked out on a monthly basis with a library card. Books written by faculty members for the subjects they teach are made available free of charge. An air conditioner, rotating fans, live projector, desktop computer, CPU, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, cameras, and speakers are among the amenities in the classroom. There are Olympia committees, fitness centers, and yoga classes available for sports. Olympia hosts basketball and football tournaments, and fitness organizations look for ways to run gyms for students so they can excel in athletic endeavors.

The hostels are awarded to all th students of the MBA programme with the fees at Kolkata Campus ranging from 50000 to 65000. The hostel also provides the facilities of Mess and Laundry which come at additional but very affordable costs.

I took the NTA-conducted IIFT 2022 exam. Online applications were submitted between September 21 and October 30, 2021. The cost of the application form was Rs. 2500. The IIFT requires a minimum 3-year Bachelor's degree with a minimum 50% grade point average in order to enroll students in its MBA(IB) program. 10% of the total seats are booked under the EWS reservation that I have chosen. The test was given on December 5, 2021. For an interview call, the cut-off for the EWS category was 90 percentile with 86 marks. A technical software error in the IIFT exam that was administered on December 5, 2021, in some centers led to the exam being redone, which presented issues for students due to a clash in the exam's schedule.

I did not face a GD or any WAT due to the covid 19 regulations. The process is typically like this: Release of Interview Calls, GD/WAT/Extempore, and PI. Coming to preparation, I would read news articles daily with a heavy focus on business news and its analyses. Further, because it is a trade college, it will impart brownie points if candidates were also aware of the trade dynamics like the recent trends in imports and exports, FTAs, CECA, and CEPA.
