Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because of the "International Business" element of it. No other colleges offer this edge. The permanent faculties are really good they bought good examples, class activities, presentations, and case discussions into play to help learn and teach. There were lively discussions, some teachers even bought in videos contents to help develop a better understanding. Exams were conducted just after the trimester ended there wasn't any delay. If you have studied you will pass but if you haven't you will fail.
Internships Opportunities
The work was in the finance domain and had a major impact on the going concern of the company. Major responsibilities were allocated to us. The average stipend on our campus is somewhere around 15. lac per month. It has been overall a good learning experience.
Placement Experience
Placements generally happen around November- Dec i.e. in the 5th trimester. More than 100 companies visited and the average package was around 25 LPA, the highest around 80 LPA. Profiles were offered in different domains- Banking, finance, wealth management, IB, marketing, digital marketing, IT, ProdMan, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, Scholarship and financial assistance Options are available. The overall cost that I incurred has been around INR 20 Lacs for the entire course. The internship average is around 1.5 lacs per month. Many good companies visit and everybody does get placed as there is 100% placement.
Campus Life
Annual Fest- Vivaan, Many speakers come to enlighten us with the industry practices and their diverse experiences in different domains. The library is well maintained. Classrooms are clean, well-maintained, ACs and well furnished with projectors, etc. Sports activities include- 2 badminton courts, 1 football/basketball court, cricket, table tennis, carrom board, etc. Multiple clubs in different domains, social clubs, sports cultural, etc. are run by students and it also has its website run by students called IIFT Kolkata reflections. Every club/cell/committee has its own social media presence as well fully handled by students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel provided is like a 2BHK flat with huge rooms with attached bathrooms and also a kitchen. In the room bed, study tables, chairs, almirahs, shoe racks, fans, etc. are provided i.e. it's fully furnished. Meals are fine Hostel Mess Committee takes care of the menu and it's changed monthly and improved continually based on student reviews. The hostel is affordable and mandatory. The room registration is on a first come first serve basis and nothing too difficult.
Admission
Eligibility- Graduation. Application Form and related info can be found on nta.nic.in. The admission process was good and smooth and the students were made to feel comfortable. Cut off I'm not sure about but I got 95%ile in the IIFT exam.
