Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My purpose in doing an MBA was to gain a deeper understanding of the business world and develop the skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful leader in the industry. Doing an MBA from a top institute like IIMB gives you a head start in your career from the rest. The faculty: Student ratio here is around 1:12 which ensures students received personalized attention and mentorship. All the faculties here are highly qualified and almost all of them have PhDs from renowned universities around the world and extensive experience in industry and academia. The teaching method followed is mostly a discussion-based approach through case studies and simulations. The term exams are conducted every 5 weeks and it is not very difficult to pass the exam but it is very difficult to maintain a good grade point.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The campus has internship drives for first-year students in the 2nd term. There were top companies from almost all the domains like finance, marketing, consult, german, and prodman. The average stipend was 1,50,000 per month.

Placement Experience

4.5

The students in the 2nd year are eligible for placements from the 6th semester. They are free either to accept the PPOs if they have any or sit in the placement drive which happens in the month of February. A lot of companies visit the campus and there is 100 % placement on the campus. Last year around 430 offers were made. The highest package was 94Lakhs and the average package was 34.6 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The MBA program here costs around 28 Lakhs for the 2-year program. The fees are partially collected in each term. This includes the tuition and hostel fees. There are a lot of banks that are ready to provide financial assistance in the form of educational loans. IIMB also provides financial assistance in the form of waiving the fees (partial or full) for people who are economically weak based on an internal assessment of all the applicants. There are various state and private scholarships that are applicable provided people meet the income criteria.

Campus Life

4.5

Life on the campus is very happening and lively. You can see people on a laptop doing a zoom call or doing case studies and group discussions 24/7. There are 11 clubs and societies on campus which keep on conducting various events and competitions. The library is open from 6 am to 10 pm except on National Holidays and has a huge collection of books from all the genres that one could ask for. The classrooms are world-class with ACs, a touch screen PC for writing, and other necessary equipment that one could think of. Water coolers are provided just outside the classrooms and there is always a helper outside if the professor requires any help in setting up the PPT or mic. The college has a basketball court, volleyball court, TT and lawn tennis court, Badminton and Squash, a swimming pool, cricket, and football ground. There are a lot of student-run groups like anveshan which is the adventure club, Mash which is the marketing club, ENI is the entrepreneurship club, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Individual Hostel rooms are provided to all the students with a desk and chair. Wifi is provided in the rooms. The PwD and married students are provided a separate room that has an attached toilet in it. The mess is very good providing 4 meals a day along with a juice counter which is open throughout the day. The people in the 1st year of an MBA are mandatorily required to stay in the campus hostel and are directly enrolled in them during the initial registration process. From the 2nd year, people are free to live either on campus or in any other place.

Admission

Graduation in any discipline with a 60% minimum for general/EWS and 50% minimum marks for SC/ST/PwD Online submission of application form on the official CAT website which also includes the relevant dates and fees, uploading necessary documents and fees payment CAT is a national-level entrance exam which is conducted by the IIM's and other B-Schools The minimum cutoff is generally 80-85 percentile for the general/EWS category and around 80 for SC/ST/PwD. There is also a section-wise minimum cutoff.

Interview Experience

4

There was no GD for the IIMB admission procedure. There was a Written Aptitude Test that had the topic of Farm Laws and after that, we had personal interviews. The personal interview was conducted in an online setting and generally had 2 faculty members and one alumni member. The interview questions for me were mainly on why I wanted to do an MBA leaving my well-salaried government job and some questions related to my job. Apart from that some questions regarding clean energy alternatives and some current affairs. For the preparations, I basically started reading the newspaper after the CAT written test and started looking at the interview experiences of candidates. I also brushed up on some concepts from my UG.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the college are good for marketing specialization. Compared to other specializations, from semester 2 itself, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank visit the campus. The highest package this year was 40 LPA, and the average package is around 6.5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 70% for now. After getting the degree, selection in a good company is my plan.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered is moderate and there are limited opportunities for high paying roles compared to top tier colleges. Companies that visit the campus are mostly small to mid sized organizations. The placement cell is very supportive and conduct training sessions such as aptitude tests, mock interviews and soft skills development to prepare students for placements.

Placement Experience:

Placement in my college is decent, wiyh around 90% of students are getting placed. Students usually become eligible for placement in their final year and the college provides internships opportunities before that, which helps in gaining experience. Many companies visit to campus mainly from marketing and sales, along with some roles in HR and operations. The number of offer is good but option for finance and analytic are comparatively limited.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
