Course Curriculum Overview
I have chosen chemical engineering because it's my passion. And I'm a very curious and experimental person. So chemical engineering provides the ability to create new substances and materials that can improve people's lives. And also so many good core companies visit our college like ITC, Dr. Reddy laboratories, Exxon Mobil, etc. Faculty to student ratio is good and it's around 1:15. The minimum qualification to be a faculty in NITW is to have Ph.D. in their respective disciplines. And most of the faculties also do write research papers. The teaching method is very good, professors are always available to help students with their doubts and queries. The term exams are mid-semester and end-semester exams, one can easily pass the exams if one listens to classes and maintain proper notes.
Internships Opportunities
Here we can do internships under professors or we can get internships by recommendations of professors. Here we have to do a minor project in 3rd year and a major project in 4th year. The companies that came for internship are ITC, BNY Mellon, Accenture, etc. The stipends offered are around Rs.30,000-Rs,60,000 per month.
Placement Experience
The placements are excellent in our college. From 7th semester the students are eligible for placements here. .Various companies visited our college like Uber, Amazon, Microsoft, TCS, Deloitte, Oracle, ITC, GAIL, etc. Total no. offers made upto now are 1100+ and still counting. The highest package is INR 88 lpa and average package is around 19.9 LPA. Around 90% students of our branch are placed upto now. My plans after getting degree are to work in a good software industry.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee here is Rs.62,500 per semester if your family/father's income is above 5 lakhs. If income is between 1-5 lakhs then only one-third of Rs.62,500 needs to be paid. If income is below 1 lakh then no fee is required to be paid. The cost of the study is around 7-8 lakhs per year if you pay the full semester fee every year. The hostel fee is around 32,000 per year. Here various scholarships are available like NSP, Institute merit scholarships. I got an NSP scholarship of Rs.10,000 in my first year for merit in the Intermediate exams. Our college provides financial assistance for a parental income of below 5 lakhs. I was hired as a software engineer in my campus placements.
