College Review - FORE School of Management

International Business offers the opportunity to get foreign placements although chances to bag a job outside of India in this college are very limited Because one or two companies visit for foreign placements as of now. Students can choose one more specialization along with IB. I chose Marketing which is also one of my core interests.

Companies like Gartner, GBE, Asian Paints, Tata Motors, Nestle, Reliance Retail, E&Y etc. visit the campus for summer internship with an average stipend of 25000 Almost 50% of the batch gets placed easily however when it comes to the other half of the students, bagging a good internship becomes a bit difficult because opportunities get reduced with time and they are bound to work for a startup or other companies with less stipend. For Marketing, most of the internship related tasks are related to consumers survey, research, B2B and B2C sales.

Students become eligible for placements from the 4th Semester. Many good companies visit our college like Asian Paints, Nestle, ICICI, Britannia, Garter, GBE, E&Y, KPMG, etc. In the case of FMCG Companies, most of the profiles are of Area Sales Managers where the company takes one or two students in most of cases at an average salary of 12 lakhs. There is a limited number of good companies and they only make one or two offers which make the placement process very tedious and a bit stressful sometimes. However, you do have a good chance in companies like KPMG, E&Y, and other good companies which provide multiple jobs offers if you perform well in the interview. The highest package of this college goes around 22 Lakh (domestic) and 50 lakhs (international) The average package is 12 Lakh. I would say 90% of the students get placements. I plan to continue working in the job that I will bag from this college.

There are many Scholarships available in this college for students' academic performance. Students from the Economically Weaker section can also avail of fees concession after the completion of 1 year based on their academic performance.

Genesis is the annual fest of FORE School of Management which is conducted in November. It receives participation from different institutions like IIFT and some IIMs. The library of this college is up to the mark. You will get many magazines, newspapers, books, and journals. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned and equipped with projectors, displays, laptops, etc. And they are always functional. There isn't any playground in the college and it has negligible sports facilities. Still, students can play Table tennis and other indoor games, facilities for which are provided in the basement. The college has around 13 clubs. It involves placement cells, Entrepreneurship cells, personality development cells, etc. These clubs are entirely run by students.

Eligibility - 78% above in CAT Exams. Application form can be found on the College's official Website - Fsm.ac.in. Application fees were around 2000 which can be paid online while filling out the form. The applications were released in the initial week of December and stays active till the first week of January. There are no reservations or benefits in the entrance process.

In the first step of the selection process, the CVs of the applicants are shortlisted and they receive mail for the same. Then, An online Interview round was conducted which started with an extempore on any topic and a business-related quiz where three MCQs were displayed on the screen. Questions related to Students' backgrounds, Work experience, knowledge, and interests were also asked. I chose Marketing as my intended specialization and some questions related to its theoretical concepts of it were asked me. I did my Interview preparation by reading business-related news and articles and preparing for the personality-based questions.
