Life at FORE!

I have chosen International Business to gain exposure in the business world with a worldwide perspective. The faculty-student ratio here is about 1:50 . Most of the teachers here are either alumni from various top management schools across the country or have had a vast experience in the industry. The teaching method here is in line with the current dynamics across the education sector and exams and academics are a top priority at FORE with frequent exams across the year and with mid-term and end-term exams with a good test of our conceptual knowledge along with application-based questions.

There was a vast range of internship opportunities provided through the college in various domains, some of the major recruiters for interns include ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Nestle, Deloitte, Capgemini, etc. The roles offered had a stipend with it and the college helped in the overall exposure by providing us a faculty mentor to guide us through our internship journey with their guidance as well as any research direction that could be given to the project and also provided adequate guidance in the formulation of the project report.

The campus placements begin at the start of the second year in Term 4, and various companies from the IT sector, FMCG, and Consultancy firms come to FORE to hire. Some of the major recruiters include Wipro, HCL Tech, Deloitte, EY, Asian Paints, etc. The highest package offered goes around 24 lakhs and the average for this year would be around 14 lakhs. The placements at FORE have been 100%. I plan to work in the corporate world and gain experience for a few years, post that I would wish to implement my knowledge and experience to be an industry expert in the domain I work in.

The Fee hike policy is basically in line with the market trends, though the cost to study is a bit on the expensive side considering no on-campus accommodation is there, there are various scholarships provided both merit-based and background based to provide adequate financial assistance to people in need of the same.

The annual fest of FORE is conducted in November and is termed "Genesis". The fest includes various events and competitions hosted by groups and clubs catering to various domains like Analytics, HR, Finance, International Business, etc. The college has a wide range of books and journals available in the library and we can issue the same from there on our College ID cards. The classrooms are smart with smart boards being provided in each one of them. Sports and extracurricular activities are hosted throughout the year by the sports club at FORE like the section wars. The students run various clubs and societies at FORE and are a bridge between the corporate world and students by bringing various industry experts throughout the year to share their experiences and give insights.

We need to appear for CAT Exam or any other top entrance exams like XAT or CMAT to be eligible for admission. The application form, application fees and dates, and other important details are available on the college website. The admission process is pretty smooth here and it is without any such glitches being observed on the website even at the last moments.

We had a Business Quiz which had the latest relevant topics of current affairs and world dynamics, the interview process was conducted by three panelists one being an Alumni/industry professional and the rest two being faculties from the institute. The process was based on our proper experience and evaluated various parameters like prior work experience if any, education, and other co-curricular activities. I myself went through various mock interviews to understand the complete process and how to be confident in the final interview stage.
