LIFE AT FORE

The course chosen by me is Big data Analytics and it is in line with the current changing dynamics of the corporate world with analytics playing a dominant role across various industries. Analytics is playing a major role across all industries across different verticals and it is an excellent option to choose. The faculty-to-student ratio at FORE is about 1:50, the faculty is highly qualified with most of the professors being graduates from top B schools and many of them also have vast corporate experience which they share with us and give us crucial insights. The term exams are happening in a timely manner here with mid-term and end-term exams happening every subsequent month and they have good quality as well with a complete evaluation of both our conceptual and practical knowledge.

The companies which have come for summer internships include Deloitte, EY, VIP, Dell, Vikram Solar, Tech Mahindra, etc. All the roles offered have a stipend with them and the projects are according to the industry requirements the college also provides a faculty mentor to guide the students in their internship reports and if a research direction could be given to the internship.

The students are eligible for Placements from the start of the second year and the college has a dedicated placement cell that works towards the final placements as well as internships of the students. Various companies have visited the campus including Deloitte, HCLTech, Asian Paints, EY, Adani, etc. The highest package offered is about 24 lakh and the average package would be around 15 lakhs. The college has a record of 100% placements. I plan to gain experience and exposure in the corporate world post my degree and excel in my corporate career.

The fee hike here is on an industry basis with the fee being hiked this year by 1 lakh as compared to the last year, the cost to study is a bit on the high side with no hostel accommodation being included in the fee which overall takes the cost a bit higher. The college offers various scholarship programs and financial assistance initiatives to the candidates who are in need of the same with both merits as well background-based scholarships on offer.

The annual fest at FORE is termed "Genesis" and it is conducted in the month of November. The fest includes various competitions and events conducted in all the domains like finance, HR, analytics, etc, the event concludes with a DJ and a star night. The library here has a vast range of journals and books which are helpful to the students and they can issue the same with the help of their college ID cards. The classrooms are smart with smartboards being installed in all of them. The college has a dedicated sports and cultural committee which hosts various sports-related events like section wards throughout the year for the students. There are various social groups at the college which are run by students who engage with the corporate world and bring industry experts to the campus to share their insights throughout the year.

The course eligibility requires a valid score of any of the following entrance exams like CAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. The application form fee and all the important application dates are available on the college website. The overall experience of the admission process is quite smooth and hassle-free and it is conducted in a very structured manner.

The admission process consists of a Business quiz which includes all the latest trends as well as current affairs, it is followed by a Personal interview round which is conducted by three panelists one of which is an industry expert or alumni from the institute and the rest two being from the campus faculty. The process involved an overall analysis of the candidate including their background, prior work experience, and general awareness as well. I prepared for these rounds through various mock interviews which I took to build my confidence prior to the final interview.
