Course Curriculum Overview
So I got rank 78000. And in this rank mechanical seemed the best choice as I wasn't passionate about coding. After coming to college I came to know that mechanical is best in terms of placement infrastructure faculties. All faculties are Ph.D. from IITs. Labs are not that standard but management is working on improvement. There are two mid-semester and one end-semester exam each semester. The semester starts from December after covid till April ( 4 months).1st year exams are easy to pass but from 2nd-year the difficulty increases. Professors also don't give numbers in exams.
Internships Opportunities
From the 4th semester students are eligible for internships. Companies like Tata Maruti Suzuki geeks for geeks exon mobil have given internship opportunities. Even Google has provided internships for 2 students. 1 has also cleared gsoc. Students have got stipends ranging from 5000 per month to 40000 per month and even more. Students have also participated in various hackathons and reaped money awards.
Placement Experience
Last year approx 90 percent of eligible students got placed. There was 100 percent placement in branches like CS, IT, Chemical, Paint, etc. Mechanical had 95 percentage placement. The highest package was approx 55 lacs lowest was 3.5 lacs. Companies like Maruti Suzuki, hero, Mahindra, Paytm, amazon, cognizant, Samsung, exon mobil, Aarti industries, Aircel, Reliance,lnt, etc came here. A strong alumni network has been a main role in campus placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
College fees are 135000 per year. In the second year fees were 127000. From the 3rd and final year, it will reduce significantly. There are various scholarship programs like the Up govt scholarship program etc which give scholarships ranging from 50k(general) to 93k(sc). There are also a few categories that don't charge tuition fees. Quotas like army quota, sports quota, etc are also available.
Campus Life
Adhyay which is a cultural fest has a history of celebrities like Rahul Jain, Yasser Desai, Rahul Dua, Kumar Vishwas, Gajendra Purohit, etc. Also last year Ojha sir came here. Sports fest Aagaz, technical fest technicka, and also E cell conducts e summit which invites various entrepreneurs and alumni of this college. Clubs like ASCPC, PSMSC, Aeroclub, Auto rob and singing and dancing clubs conduct various events each month. So great campus life. There is also a gym here in the west campus.
Admission
So now I am in 2nd year of mechanical engineering. Students are required to pass jee mains. For mechanical, cutoff last year was 140000. Registration form is available on hbtu.ac.in. at Rs 2500. Counseling starts from August till first week of December. There are 4 main rounds 1 internal sliding and offline counseling.
