Course Curriculum Overview
All the professors here have studied at top universities and have immense experience. I am doing electrical engineering here because that's what my rank offered me at IIT Delhi. My target was to get into the top 3 IITs and IIT Delhi, the electric branch was the optimum option for me. The faculty: students ratio is almost 1:25 which allows every department student that professors focus on them. The exams here are very timely and semester wise and they are based on the contents taught during class hours. If a student studies what is taught in lectures regularly it is easy to pass the mid sem and end-sem exams.
Internships Opportunities
Students with 4 yr degree can sit for internships that come through the placement cell of our college just after completing their 4th semester. Over 200 companies including startups come and get the best students from here for them to work in their profiles for almost 8 weeks with an average stipend of around 80k. Students also do research internships and projects under our own professors in their 2nd year.
Placement Experience
A 4yr B Tech course allows you to sit for placements of companies that come through the placement cell of the college only after completing the 6th semester. Over 300 companies come for placements and take over 800 students with an average package of around 15lacs. Many opt for civil services during their college life and other explore in the world of entrepreneurship.
Fees and Financial Aid
The academic fee is a bit on the higher side but the hostel fess is very optimum. There are many scholarship opportunities coming throughout the year for students whether it is by government, institute, or alumni. For placements, IIT Delhi has very good numbers. There have been many entrepreneurs also who as graduated before. The average package is around 15-20 lacs.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is very good and the campus has many areas which can be used by a student. There is SAC for any kind of indoor activities. There is LHC for daily lectures. There is a big library with over 20000 books which students can use any time during the day or night. Being situated in a city like Delhi students go to clubs and malls on weekends and party like nowhere. There are many cultural clubs like photography, music, dance, drama, literature, etc. All sports activities are also available.
Admission
The process for admission is simple to appear for JEE Advanced exam and get in the top 10000 candidates merit-based to get admission into IITs. To get into IIT Delhi you have to be in the top 50 00 candidates. JEE Advanced requires a pre-requisite qualification for JEE Mains exam whose application form is released by the government each year around April-May. Qualifying JEE Mains is mandatory for being able to sit for JEE Advanced exam and then getting in top 5000 candidates ensures you IIT Delhi.
