Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to pursue a computer science degree. I had heard about SNU from many of my friends and did research on my own. The placements and multidisciplinary opportunities attracted me to SNU the most. Faculty to student ratio is 1:10 if I am not wrong. CSE faculty is good and highly qualified. Exams are a bit on the difficult side.
Placement Experience
I will become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onward. Tons of good companies visit our campus every year. To name a few, we have Amazon, Amex, Dell, Goldmann Sachs, HP, etc. The highest package this year is about 55 lpa and the average package is 12 LPA and the median is 11 LPA. I guess over 90% of students got placed. I am hoping to get a good placement after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees at my time of joining were 2.25 LPA and hostel and mess fees are 1.75 LPA. Now the fees have increased. There are a few scholarship options as well. There is sports scholarship, merit cum means, SAT, etc. Average and median placement is very good so the ROI that I am expecting makes it worth the fees.
Campus Life
Campus life is happening as we have a fully residential campus. There are two major fests every year - BREEZE and SURGE and a lot of events all around the year. BREEZE is conducted in the month of March after mid sem exams. The library is very big and has thousands of books. We have smart classrooms that are equipped with the latest technologies and air conditioners and heaters function in the summers and winters. Attention to sports is the thing that I love about SNU. It hosts a lot of sports opportunities including training. Competitions are conducted regularly. There is a lot of cultural and technical club. I am a part of GDSC.
Admission
The minimum eligibility at my time was 75% in CBSE class 12th exams. This was the eligibility to give the university's entrance exam SNUSAT. There were two modes of admission for my course: 1) SNUSAT and 2) JEE main score. I gave SNUSAT. The application form was available on the site. Application fees at my time were 2000 rupees. Overall the application process was smooth and the test was online in a proctored mode at my time due to COVID-19. Results came in about a month late, but I was very happy when I was offered the course of my choice.
