Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty-student ratio is around 1:15. The facilities have done PHDs and many of them have done it from well-reputed colleges including Ivy League. The courses are usually tough and exams too, so the average marks of the class go low.
Internships Opportunities
The internships are usually tough than actual placements. Only half of them get placed. Many big companies including Google, Amazon visits the campus to provide internships to the students. It helps in your placements.
Placement Experience
Many companies like Google. Amazon, Walmart. BCG etc visits the campus for providing placements. From 7th semester, students are eligible to sit for placement interviews. Most of them get placed. The average package is around 14-15 lakhs. But it may vary from crores to a very modest package.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are quite high. It's around 238000 for a year. For families with an annual income of fewer than 5 lakhs, there is a fee waiver. For merit students, there are scholarship opportunities too such as the IIT DELHI Endowment scholarship.
Campus Life
The annual fests are RENDEZVOUS- it has many singers like Sunidhi Chauhan and benny Dayal. Tryst- it's the tech fest of IIT Delhi. It orders in the month of march. Then there is Literati and Kaizen too. There are many clubs including music clubs and BRCA Clubs.
Hostel Facilities
For first and second-year students, the room sharing may vary from 2-3 students sharing per room. Starting from the third year till phd, you get single rooms. Hostels are quite affordable and you get evening snacks and the food is quite good too
Admission
To get admission into IIT, first i took jee Mains, and then I took JEE Advanced. 75% in 12th boards is mandatory to give JEE Advanced exam. All these exams are available on jeeadv.ac.in. For my course (chemical engineering), the required rank was around AIR 2000.
