A Brief Review of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management

I chose this course because I am genuinely interested in the Information Technology sector. In addition to my interests, the curriculum of the institute and its placement record were the significant pulls of this institute and course. The faculty-student ratio is good and is improving continuously. There are professors and several assistant professors. The faculty is highly qualified and experienced. Every faculty member is a Ph.D. holder. The teaching method varies on the individual some professors adopt a laidback approach others have a more hands-on way of doing things. Exams are held two times a semester. First are the mid-semester exams and then the end-semester exams. In addition to these, assignments and quizzes are conducted regularly.

Almost all big tech companies offer internships at our college. These include Samsung, DE Shaw, Flipkart etc. The stipend varies on the individual. The roles offered are mostly software development roles.

Students become eligible for placements in pre-final and final year. All the big tech companies give students here offers. Some companies include Google, Facebook, Goldman Sachs etc. The highest package in 2021 was 1.90 crore pa and average package was 22 lakhs pa. Almost 100% percent students get placed.

The fees including the hostel charges come out to almost 1 lakh per semester or 2 lakhs per year. Scholarships are available for students as Financial Aid. Need-based scholarships are also provided by the institute.

Aurora is the annual cultural fest held in the months of February and March. It is a 3 day event. Infotsav is the annual tech fest of the institute and is held in the months October-November. The institute is home to Central India's largest library. The library houses a wide collection of books and publications. Classrooms are well-maintained and equipped with modern teaching aids. The sports facilities are state of the art and an intra-institute sports meet called Urja is also organised every year. There are various clubs by the name of Uthaan, Rotaract. Beathoppers, Manchtantra etc run by the students

Generally, everyone is allotted a single room in the hostels but due to COVID and following onboarding of students recent catches have been allotted double or triple sharing rooms in the first year. Meal quality is fine, food is good enough for healthy nutrition. Hostel and mess are quite affordable.

The undergraduate courses at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology Gwalior intake students through the JEE MAINS examination. There are provisions for DASA students. Admissions take place through JOSAA and CSAB. Reservations are the same as all institutes under the central government. There are no reservations for home-state students.
