BVCOE, Delhi : Is not still the top colleges of IP affiliated colleges

My JEE-Main Rank was 1.90 lac AIR. I choose the CSE course in BVCOE but even after 4 rounds, I gained a seat in ECE and I accepted it as I already know that IPU Colleges have a procedure in which upgradation of stream is possible after the end of 1st year and that too with no charge. In my Class there are 66 students including me and boys to girl ration is 6:1 that is around 50 boys and 16 girls. Some Faculties in this college are great. They know what subject they are teaching and have extensive notes and knowledge of concepts to explain the students about it. Our Exams structure was one mid-sem examination and one end-term examination and the structure of our semester is a bit variable and range from 4 months-7months per semester like 1st semster run from August to Feburary. Exams are usually easy as they are usually from the syllabus provided to us although we have to write quite a description in order to gain marks so write more especially in end-term.

Internships are provided but are only provided to CSE/IT students and that too 5 in 6th semester like Grapecity for Software Intern For ECE students, there is 1-2 internships that comes. During 7th semesters, one can apply for jobs and they also give trainings along with them the students have to go through them for 8th semester and they provide holidays for exams and other important stuffs in college. The Task include usually making presentations, words i.e. documentation along with courses provided by them on udemy and other platforms to learn their technology. The Manager asks us to be part of projects and asks us to observe and we can write the code in them but that is usally not added in main project. It is just for Practice.

There is a Placement Cell in the college known as Tnp (Trainings and Placements). It becomes active for students during the end of 6th semester. One has to pay 1000/- as Tnp fees for being applicable to see job offers provided by them. Companies like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys etc mass recruiters are responsible for hiring 50% of placed students while other companies like comviva, yamaha takes less than 10 students and the packages varies from 3.5 lacs per year to 18 lacs per year. Mostly the profie of Software Engineers are asked although data analyics and fron-end engineers are also in high numbers and sales companies come at the end so try to gain job in 7th semester only. Around 70% students are placed and rest are asked to apply outside by themseleves and i also did not get placed so I am applying outside.

Fees usually is highest in 1st year and lowest in 4th year because aside from constant tution fees , they have several types of cost added in the 1st year. In our case, we paid 130000 per year due to fees hike especially during the second year and third year due to pandemic where the cost was increased by at least 10% per year. There are Scholarships for SC,ST and OBCs and one can apply for that giving the certficate of proof and associated certificates. There will be reduction in Tution Fees that too change every year for each class including Disabled. Other Scholarships which were not of college but of IPU are distributed in Whatsapp Groups and were asked to fill to get an certain percent off tution fees if applied including General. There are several student socities. You can become an assistant to a professor for a research paper but I believe you will not be paid for it.

The Annual Cultural Fest happens in October usually and includes dance performaces, singing , several events and other activities. It is of single day whereas Tech Fest of BVCOE named as BVEST happens along with cultural and sometimes differently in the month of November where Hackathons, Quizzes , Guesstimates and other types of competiitons are kept organized by more than 20 student societies having a total of 200 students in organizing commitee. There are prizes worth more than 5 lacs. The Library is available at Ground Floor and has a large variety of books. One can search availabilty using the Computer and check the database of a particular book. They have to provide I-cards to professionals and they scan it and give them book and are allowed to have books for 21 days. If late submitted, they need to pay fine and a very enormous procedure is there to pay the fees so just reissue the same book after 21 days if you want to. A music Room, A sports rooms having equipments.

In the Year 2019, I gave the JEE MAIN [Joint Entrance Examination-Main] having the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Maths and we were informed by the concerned authorites that the selection in a Indraprasth University College and affiliated colleges will also happen by the marks gained in JEE-Main. We applied in the admission procedure in IPU and provided a minimal fees for the process. After that, there were 3 rounds of selection in which we chose which college in IPU we need and which stream. Then the result of each round came and a student can choose whether to apply for next round or is satisfied with the seat gained in previous round. After that there is a spot counselling round and I gained the seat in ECE in BVCOE.We paid the admission fees, security fees and Administration fees.
