Course Curriculum Overview
This course is a better option. As everybody is just running behind MBBS and BTech, B.Sc. Agriculture is a different and better course. The faculty-to-student ratio is good. It's not that much high like what we see in movies. The faculty is highly qualified. All the faculty members are experts and experienced in their branch. All have persuaded Ph.D. The exams are held after every 2 months. And the level of exams is normal.
Internships Opportunities
I do not have any experience with the internship that much because I am just in 1st year. But I have come to know that many companies come here for offering placements. The jobs offered with the package are also good.
Placement Experience
In M.Sc. or Ph.D., students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies related to agriculture like seed companies, and food companies like Britannia, etc. come for offering placements. Almost 40 percent get placements, 25 percent of students apply for PG studies and the rest try for civil services or private jobs. My plan after this degree is to either Civil Services or MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the university are normal. It is not that much high. Yearly it is 25000 including hostel fees. The mess charges are separate. Students who score more than 7.5 OGPA and are in the top 25 percent of students in yearly exams can get scholarships. National-level scholarship via NSP is also available. SC students and BPL students can get financial assistance. Students can get jobs on campus after their Ph.D. only.
Campus Life
Twice a year, Kisan Mela takes place and once a year, Flower Show takes place. This year our university sponsored the All India Agriculture Sports Meet. There is a very big Nehru Library. Almost all books related to the courses are available. Many sports activities are present here. Every year inter-college sports meet takes place. Classrooms are airy and with AC. Smart screens are present in all lecture rooms.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is that one should have passed 12th with the science stream. One can also apply for a 6-year course after the 10th class. The application form can be found on the website of HAU - admissions.hau.ac.in The reservation is for the ST, SC, LDV (Land Donated Village), ESM, and sportsperson.
