open air theatre , it is really huge and nice .
lot of freedom in campus ,literally no rules
big campus size of 1050 acres , sufficient for all activities

Dislikes

swimming pool is still under maintainence
less opportunites to participate in clubs in 1st semester
less gym equipments , not sufficient and less slots

Course Curriculum Overview

I got a rank of 1298 in JEE advanced exam and chose electrical engineering. The faculty is great and helpful and the main thing which helps you to get good score in exams is the previous year's paper. Some exams are easy whereas some are difficult. In iit kanpur roughly 200 students are there in the electrical department.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities in the college are nice and from time to time you will get a mail about the available internships. Also, foreign internships are provided if your skills are good enough .student placement cell is good.

Placement Experience

According to media, the best engineering placements this year were from IIT Kanpur. 74 international offers were made and 33 people got packages above 1 crore and the highest domestic package was 1.9 crores.

Fees and Financial Aid

All students admitted to the bachelor of science program are given a scholarship of annually Rs.80k. The fee for general category students is Rs 1lakh per semester and scholarships are given to economically weaker sections.

Campus Life

Life on campus is great. There is a club for every sport and activity and you can enjoy whatever you want. There is a music club, dance club and many more. The facilities are just awesome. Currently, the swimming pool is under maintenance.

Admission

The admission to IIt Kanpur was done through the Joint entrance examination (JEE advanced). The maximum number of attempts of jee advanced are two and jee advanced exam takes place every year in the month of june-july. After 6 th semester you are eligible for campus placement. Many companies are comes likes Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Cagegimini etc and they offer decent package. Highest package 3000000 and average package 400000 and profile offered as for company required. 80 percentage student get placement. Take a placement in good MNC company.

Actually I didn't research on the placement. But in college campus I saw many boards of placed students and the average package is around 4-4.5lakh per annum.and college data says about 90%of students are placed. I am preparing for both off-campus and on campus placement.

Our college offer good placement it has average placement of 11 Lpa. Highest package of 52 lpa in Google. There are many company like TCS, L&T, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, IBM and many more visited our college. If you have CGPA greater than 7 then you are eligible for maximum placement drive. My plan is to get government job.

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. Life @ IITK

I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
