What Students Say
Likes
- The socities and the clubs are a great experience as all the societies are pretty active. One must join some of these to get some exposure.
- The crowd of the college is good. Everyone is easy to approach.
- The overall vibe of the college is nice. The canteen is always full and people are enjoying in groups. There is always a happy vibe in the college.
Dislikes
- The classes are not held as per the schedule and there is a lot of time gap between the scheduled classes.
- There are no hostel facilities provided by the college. You have to stay in a pg or rent out flats which are very costly near the campus.
- The syllabus of paticularly vocational courses is not upto the mark. Only basic concepts are covered which are not enough to get a job.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as the curriculum of this course focuses more on practical learning rather than theoretical knowledge. But the faculty of this course and all the vocational courses are not that great. They seem pretty careless in their teaching methods. Although the exams are not that difficult and one can score well by just attending classes and doing a little self-study.
Internships Opportunities
Students are regularly notified about the various internship opportunities through WhatsApp groups by Aspire - the placement cell of the college. But not many companies come for the hiring interns in the college particularly. (stipend- 5k-15k). You have to put effort to get internships off campus. I personally advise you to start doing internships from the first year itself as later on in the second and third years it becomes very hectic if you are doing something else other than your degree.
Placement Experience
The placement opportunities provided by the college are decent. The placement cell of the college "Aspire" bring good opportunities, But one has to put great effort to grab these opportunities. The average package is around 3-4 lacs per annum. The percentage of students getting placed is around 25 to 30%. Most of the students don't get placement from the college unless they are exceptionally good.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the course are pretty similar to all DU courses. It's around 11k for a year. Although there was a fee hike of 1k in my second year. There is no such scholarship or financial aid provided in the college.
Campus Life
The college's annual fest i.e Tatva is one of the best fests on the south campus. The Tatva fest is organised for 3 days around the month of February. There is alot of crowd in the college during that time and there are alot of activities happening in the college. There are several cultural and departmental societies in the college which are very active and provide good opportunities to develop your skills. This is the best part about our college Talking about infrastructure the infra is old but has decent facilities. The new building made recently has good facilities including projectors in each classroom and well-maintained furniture.
Admission
A student from any background, science, arts, or commerce can take admitted to this course. The application process is also straightforward forward like all DU courses. You just have to fill out the DU application form and check if the cutoff for the course matches your percentage, if it does you can pay the fees and secure your seat.
