Beyond the brochure: An Honest Review

I choose Electrical Engineering because I'm interested in Electric Department and it is a circuital branch of one of the top most IIT. At IIT, we get the best faculty from all over the world. There is TA for every group of 30 students and a personal acad mentor. Profs are too good and very experienced most of them had a lot of research in their life. As they are experienced their teaching method is better than any other college. We have 2 minors and one major per sem. They are quite tough one should have to study regularly to pass the exam. Discipline in IIT is too strict no one can practice unfair means in exams otherwise they got failed that course. Here things are more practical than theory because they believe in making us used to the real world. We have labs regularly and we have to do experiments properly.

The fee in IITs is a bit high but there is a fee waiver for students of weak economic section. The fee is on the basis of the family's annual income. There is a full tuition fee-waive for students whose annual income is less than 1 lakh and whose is between 1 to 5 Lakn 2/3rd of the fee is waived. There is a scholarship for students of this category they got 1k per month also. SC and ST students' complete tuition fee is waived and mess & hostel is also waived as a scholarship. A community called OCS helped to get a stipend internship and placement.

There are a lot of clubs at IIT. Students can do any extra curriculum activities in which they are interested. One of the largest fests is conducted in IITD called RDV every year. There are many fests conducted the whole year i.e. Tryst, Pravriti, Becon, Kaizen, I-connect, etc. Rendevous is a cultural fest and Tryst is a technical fest both conducted in the month of Feb-march. There is the central library which is 24x7 open and there is a huge collection of books where we can get all books, there is another library also in SAC where we can get books other than academics like manga and comics and others. Lecture halls are too big where at a time 300+ can sit and there are tut classes also for tutorial classes. There is a couch for every sport. There are grounds for every sport and even every hostel has a separate sports room and ground. There are many social groups run by students of NSS. Clubs also run by students.

Hostels in IITs are best. Mess food is excellent. We get meals four times a day. There is a properly balanced diet and healthy food in mess. The hostel is on campus so we don't need to go out of campus and there is a shop, juice shop, and night mess in every hostel. The hostel room is air-conditioned. Rooms have beds, cupboards, bookshelves, and study tables and the hostel has a lift, park, gym, sports room, common room, and reading room.

We have to qualify for JEE-ADVANCED entrance to get into IIT & for giving JEE-ADVANCED we have to qualify JEE-MAINS exam. The eligibility criteria are 10+2 with PCM. JEE MAINS application form is available at NTA official website and after qualifying for JEE MAINS, JEE ADVANCED form is on JEE ADVANCED official site managed by IIT. There are Reservation Benefits for category students. JEE ADVANCED is among the toughest exams in the world. One should have to qualify it to enter into IIT there is no alternate way.
