Remarks
Concluding, the college is good.but it can be better.The main requirement for any engineering college is the placement activities which is very poor in this institution. The level of placement training activities must be improved a lot. The standards of student intake must be improved that can only be happen through better results in the academics. It's the responsibility of both the students and the faculties to work hard towards the need and thus the grade of college will be improved.
Entrance Preview
KCET 2013,my ranking was nearer to 35000. As one of my friend was studying in this college,he suggested this and thus i opted this in the option entry process. As the cutoffs were according to my rank,I got mechanical engineering seat.
Course Curriculum Overview
As prescribed by VTU,all the curriculum activities will be carried out without any compromises.The college consists of well built library and the mechanical branch consists of a research and development centre,which provides great scope for the students. But unfortunately,research and development is not up to the expectations.
Internships Opportunities
No,the college did not provide any internship programs.But support was provided for those who are interested to go in private and do internships during holidays.
Placement Experience
Unfortunately,this is where the college keep it's students in stake.Only few companies will visit every year and the placements are very few in numbers. Last year,TCS was the only recognized company which came for the recruitment and only 5 students were selected for the job process.Though the faculties encourage the students for pool campus processes,the support from the management and the placement cell is very poor.
College Events
Many curricular and co curricular activities were conducted when i was a student.The annual college day,named as kalpotsava is celebrated every year and it progresses for three days.Apart from that,an ISRO exhibition called kalpayana was also conducted.Very often events such as seminars and national level symposiums were conducted.
Fee Structure And Facilities
For general category,the fee structure will be as prescribed by KEA board. I had paid about 40000 rs. as the college fee and 15000 as hostel fee. The monthly rent of the hostel mess will be of dividing system,which was about 1.7k every month. The college will accept the DD by any nationalized bank.
Fees and Financial Aid
All the students can avail vidyasiri scholarships which will provide a better amount as an encouragement. Also SC and ST students,caste minority students will be provided with more and more scholarships and encouragement to study.
Campus Life
Many sports and cultural activities were conducted during the academic years.Many of the students participated in inter college competitions and gained prizes. Equal preference was provided both for the major genders and encouragement was very good for them in exploring their better capacities.
Hostel Facilities
The facilities in hostel was at an average level.The mess food was good and nutritious to have and it was worth the money we spent.The hostel floors must be renovated and cleanliness must be maintained. Hostel was strict with a chief warden and an assistant warden.There was no ragging and strict measures would be taken against those activities if they found any. The presence of a study hall or a study room would provide more scope for the study.
Alumni/Alumna
Every year an alumni meet will be conducted during the month of may in order to connect the students with the alumni s. Many alumna are working in a better position at various reputed companies and their guidance were always very helpful for all of us.
Exam Structure
The exams were used to carried out as per the norms of the university.The faculties never compromise with the strictness of the conduct.Every month an internal assessment test was conducted in order to check the growth of student curriculum. And also,the marks sheets were sent to the parents for the awareness about his/her development or decrements.
Admission
As the seat is allotted by normal option entry,the process was according to the government rules and regulations.The admission order was downloaded from the web and it was submitted to the college.Then a DD of 41,700 rs. was given to them as the fee.
Faculty
Consists of many intellectual and experienced lecturers who are ready to educate the students with greater enthusiasm.The college consists of both young and experienced lecturers. But during recent years, the number of new lecturers is increasing, that lacks confidence in the students about the teaching.
