Entrance Preview

Gave GGSIPU CET in 2012, easier questions than JEE or AIEEE (which now called mains and advanced), got rank nearly 4k, opted for this college because it was a government college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Fundamental but slightly outdated. But when I was in my final year, curriculum was changed and some essential subjects were added, so cant say. Most probably good now.TOC and Discrete maths were introduced. But there are some weird subjects as well, mostly related to management and English. I mean they might be good for some. But the way it is taught in engnn colleges, there is no point in studying them.

Internships Opportunities

AFAIK there was no internship program. There might be now, under some teacher as RA. But one shouldn't stipend, this is not a tier-1 or tier-2 college.

Placement Experience

1.5

At my time it was pretty bad. Even infosys took only 20-30 students from a pool of 150+ Some startups came and recruited 1-2. Most of the students were left on their own. To struggle in this open world. Placement teacher was kept changing because of some internal politics. I suppose now the placements are better.

College Events

1.5

There was this fest from Computer science department "Resonavae" which was organized only once and that too before 2012, and never bought up again. "Inceptum" is the annual technical fest of the college, first it was based on Electrical department but then eventually every department accepted it. No-one (among students) was willing to organize a fest. Apart from technical, there is this street play fest "Riwayat" organized at my college for the last 2-3 years. It is worth it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees was 35k per year at my time. For my juniors it was 40k. Fees is affordable as compared to other private colleges of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. I am glad I opted for this college and not those private college. Its not that they are better or worse, they are more or less same. But their fees is too high.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan / scholarship facility I know. And there is no need. This is not a that good college for which banks will give loans.

Campus Life

1.5

An up-down (daily commuting from home) college life is not what you expect when you think of college. But it is what it is. Those colleges and those lives exists. Gender ratio is pretty bizzare. First of all already only a few girls opt for Science after 12th. And after that many goes to medical. What do you expect? girls from arts department will go for engnn Ratio is very unbalanced, nearly 1:20. But that's nobody's fault. Labs are below average for CSE. Sports is... poorly managed (by the incharge, students are keeping it alive). Rest is covered in fests.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

There was no hostel at my time. And there will be no hostel for some time. There was a protest organized at my college for the same reason but things didn't go as expected. There is this one canteen, just barely enough to feed 300-400 day scholars.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not that wide. But whatever it is, it is good to look at. Students are in reputed companies and universities.

Exam Structure

It is decided by the university and the structure is quite rudimentary. What I hated about the exams was its timings -_- when every student is busy in enjoying vacations, IP students goes to write their exam.Maintain a good repo with the teacher, write rubbish (relevant one) in answer sheets, improve handwriting and one can easily get 70+/100.

Admission

Filled the form of GGSIPU CET online. On the day of exam, I went to the center (which was in remote village of haryana), gave the exam, got the results, took the admission. There is no such thing as "counseling", you have to go their and tell them their choice. No one is there to counsel.

Faculty

3.5

At my time the faculty was pretty naive and not experienced. Everyone was asst proffs and there was this one experienced (read awesome) visiting faculty, T.P Pandey sir. Except him everyone was new.But some of them were pretty qualified and knew their stuff. Many were.... time-pass. When I was in my final year, govt intervened and said wtf is happening in this college. All the contractual based faculty was removed and appointments were made from UGC. Now there are many qualified faculty.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
