Remarks

It is better to see this as a school rather than an engineering college, because, everything you study, feel, and face is of that kind. Better to depend on self-study because the faculty is least or not best. Thanks to the gigantic library (though there are no enough books some time, it really gives chills with the environment) and kudos to the stadium (though we can play there only during the fest, other times, we have to pay some 20,000 Rs to play there)

Entrance Preview

I took EAMCET and bagged 15171 Rank in the exam. My brother studied in this college, with the finest rating from NAAC and beautiful infrastructure within, the location and discipline in the college have lured my parents to join me here. My parents often dreamt of me studying in some popular Autonomous college and it was their desire that landed me in Vardhaman. I wasn't much particular about Civil engineering, my father wanted me to do it, well, many students do so just because their dads wanted them to do.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I am sorry, but the course structure is stupid. I don't understand why a civil engineering student needs to learn C language or the other electronic thing. Basics are fine and necessary but getting deep into the unwanted subjects is simply wasting the time that can be spent on useful subjects. The assignments projects everything was just slippery, no proper faculty, not enough equipment in the lab and sorry, the rules will suffocate you so much. And most importantly one cannot go with electives in Vardhaman, everything is already planned, there's nothing selective.

Internships Opportunities

In all these 4 years, I never heard a word of that kind. Even if you're [assionate enough and clinched an internship outside the college, then, here's another big problem-attendance. Fate has something worse for our batch, we had Raghava Rani as HOD, she never gave us permission do work as an Intern. Anyway, I managed to do that outside bunking some classes which ended me in condonation for which I had to pay a staggering amount of Rs 8000 as fine. Well, I shouldn't have joined this college.

Placement Experience

2.5

If you're in your fourth year, then man! forget which stream you belong to. Our Vardhaman doesn't give a damn about your course, you will be given only one opportunity, GO TCS or GO JOBLESS! Sadly, no companies will land over the college to hire you in. The case is different if you belong to Computers, Electronics or Information Technology. I think TCS makes sense for all these stream students.

College Events

0.5

There are two important events in our college: technical fest and Cultural fest. The technical fest is called as 'Technolites' which is LOL in general because the curriculum and the faculty have limited or no positive effect on students. So, the curiosity and intriguing thoughts get aborted in the middle. Sports is definitely a pro for the college, games are actually conducted in a pleasing manner. We have a fine stadium and kits, kudos to the college for the grand cricket stadium. Cultural Fest: there are two saddest things about this fest, number one: Outsiders aren't allowed and two: concert is not up to the mark (very normal singers are roped in)

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is expensive. During my college, it was around RS 76400 for the first year and RS 59000 for the consecutive three years. Now, the fees rose up to Rs 1 lakh+ We got a scholarship of Rs 35000 every year, so it was less problematic. Now, even with Rs1 lakh as a total fee, one has to pay Rs 70000 more than it is definitely more for the middle-class students. A student has to pay the whole amount at once, so it is definitely a burden for them. It would be great if the installment system is introduced. Meanwhile, the college also loots students immensely under the titles of library and accreditation fees year to year.

Fees and Financial Aid

You can urge the college to give you a letter that depicts the whole amount of fees you pay for the college, then take it to the banks and bag a loan, that happens, few of my friends did so. There are no special kinds of scholarship, only one exists and that is provided by state govt for those whose parents aren't govt employees and OC with EBC certificate proving that the income is less than 1 lakh. The scholarship amount is Rs 35000.

Campus Life

3.5

There is definitely a positive environment in this aspect. No discrimination, no gender bias or anything, everything is fine. Except that there is always this mini RSS kind of principles that won't allow the boy and girl to roam much freely as boys do. No parties! normal parties are fine, but nothing wild is encouraged. There are lots of students who want to come up with clubs and groups, but, all they have to do is work on themselves, gather people and do everything on their own, there'll be no support from college unless until it is about education.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel was absolutely fine in terms of food, environment, and other aspects. But, it is bit strict, if you wish to go out somewhere to hang out with friends, then man! that's difficult, you have to take permission from the in charge, make a call to parents and that's the thing, it is more strict than ever. Now, there is an advantage you could have, if you're a close mate to the in-charge or the security guy, you can have your life, no messing with permission letters and etc.

Alumni/Alumna

There is never an Alumni meet in our college. But, seniors are always there to help and cope up with us to experience the progress professionally. As there is no space for much-ragging, there's no way to get in touch with our seniors, freshers and farewell parties which we plan outside do help in this case. On the top of everything, it is during the fests and sports events when we get close to our seniors, help each other and get in touch with them in wholesome. However, it is heard that the college is coming up with some new kind of club to organize the Alumni meet, hope, it will work out.

Exam Structure

You will be given some 20 questions before the day and you'll face some 10 out of them next day (internals), so it is easy. As there is not enough equipment, only 2 people out of one batch (5) get to actually lay their hands on the equipment. We won't feel stressed post the exam or the labs because that's the only place where we can practically try learning and exams are nothing to worry about.

Admission

Well, for that rank, it was easy for me getting an admission. The process of getting an admission wasn't tough at all. Our state board gave us a date on which we can apply for the colleges (3 days are granted for counseling, for 1-15000 rankers, it is the first day, for 15000-30000 it is 2nd day, for the rest, it is 3rd day) We can include as many options as we want, the seat allotment results will be out soon after a week or 10 days. if we didn't like the college we're allotted, we can go on with 2nd and 3rd counsellings. Only one option will be left in hands.

Faculty

2

There are barely 2-3 professors who would help in any way, rest often gaze at clocks and make us fill our running notes all the day. There's no room nor time for creative experiments. If there's any single professor with whom you can discuss your ideas, then I would say that you're blessed. If you're close enough with your professors, then, remember, you're safe with internals. Work hard if you're not a fine buddy to your teachers.
