Best Engineering College

Overall life in this college IIT Madars is worth living for. Everyone helps each other and environment is also good, when you live in this environment your mindset improves and grow your skills very quickly.

I took IIT JEE 2013 exam, in which I got 167 marks. Ya I opt for this college because it is one among the old IITs.

Course structure is pretty good. We can choose our choice of elective in our own department as well as in any department. They will teach you from the scratch. And if you want to pursue research then you are at good place because the support and funding for research in this college is damn good.

Yes, you can do your intern/project under any prof, you just have to approach them via mail and if they accept your request then you are good to go. But mostly they don't provide any stipend. Experience will be good because you will be living in this green campus for the entire time of your intern and trust me the campus is very awesome.

Placement opportunities are pretty good here. Many companies come for the placement and they give decent amount of average package. Flipkart, Amazon, Goldman Sacs, JP Morgan, HSBC, ICICI bank etc companies came and they offered around 15 Lacs avg package (I don't know the exact figures)

Mainly Two big events happens in our institute- 1) Technical fest - SHAASTRA 2) Cultural fest - SAARANG SHAASTRA happens in first week of Jan which is followed by SAARANG in the next week of Jan. If you are a tech nerd then SHAASTRA is a best place to showcase your abilities and you can win exciting prices also. IF you want to enjoy to the full extent then come to SAARANG and enjoy. Participation of both the events exceeds 50k.

Fee structure are made in such a way that every student can pay it easily like if a student is from poor background and cannot afford the fees then various types of scholarships are available. Generally the fees is around 100000 as the tuition fees and around 10000 for the other fees that makes the figure to 110000 for one semester. For the poor background students MCM scholarship is there in which all the tuition will be removed and they just have to pay the other fees. Now for the hostel fees we have to pay around 20k for one semester.

As I mentioned earlier, MCM scholarship is there in which you need to submit your family's income certificate and if this fulfills the conditions of the scholarship then you will be given that and in that your entire tuition fees will be cut of and you just have to pay the other fees. Other than this various scholarship are also there which are also good (i don't know much about them) Ya loan facility is also provided by the institute branch if sbi bank with reasonable interest rate.

Campus life is very good. this place is like a little forest, you can find here deers roaming around without any fear, jackals are also there. Gender ratio is very less in my opinion it will be around 9:1 (male:female). This is free campus you can go anywhere at anytime without any hesitation. We have one sports complex in which you can go and play basketball, tenis, vollyball, etc. Competition are happening in the campus from time to time.

In first year you have to share your room with one or two people but from the next year onward you will given a single room. Rooms are designed such that it is a perfect fit for a single person (not in the relationship mode). Rooms have tubelight, fan one table, chair, cot and one closet. No need to go for a PG, college has sufficient room to accommodate everyone. Mess food is not that great but think for a minute that 102 rupees per day you cannot ask for a 5 star hotel food. Food is manageable.

Alumni network is very strong, in fact students of our institute are working on this to make it the biggest network by doing various kind of things. Seniors are very helpful, whenever you need anything and if they are free, they will help you with their full strength. College conducts reunion of alumni from time to time, from that network becomes much stronger.

Exams are not that hectic. Every course will have maximum of 3 exams in a semester quiz 1, quiz 2 and Endsem and sometimes some profs take only two exams midsem and endsem. Schedule of these are fixed and are given in college calendar. Exams run for an entire week and then we are back to our normal life and again in the next week next exams will come, in the mean time prof will not want you to sit in peace so they will give you assignments which are time consuming, but we are engineers we somehow manage to peace out also.

After selection, they send you various number of forms to fill up like medicals form etc. you fill it up and at the time of registration at the iit you need to submit those document fully filled. Then they conduct photo and signature session in which they take our photos and e-signature for the making of id-card.

Faculty of our college is good. Mostly they all had done their post doc in abroad from a well known institute. Some profs are really good at teaching but some are not because their most of the focus remain on their research work and they couldn't give the time on their teaching skills. But I must say this that the profs are good heated persons.
