Remarks

Good remarks have already been written above. Bad remarks include lack of sanitation and excessive vandalism. Management has shut its eyes and ears because the main reason for this is the behavior of students.

Entrance Preview

Entrace is conducted by Law Faculty, Delhi University every year in May/June. I chose this course over M.A. Economics because LL.B. is a professional course and was preferred over an academic course. The admission process is called counseling in which students are given admission on the basis of their rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is best in the country as most of the other institutes follow our curriculum. We are given case materials which is a detailed tabulation of landmark cases. Moreover, we have to read the bare acts and reference books for theory. Electives are chosen from the beginning of the 2nd year. You can either choose civil, criminal or other subjects of law, depending on preference.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide any internship as there is no internship cell in our college. Students apply or go through reference for internships which are mostly unpaid.

Placement Experience

0.5

The placement cell is not very active. Around 10% of the students get placed. Plus, not many companies come to college and provide employment. Packages offered to those 10% students are average. Students get employment by going for walk-in interviews.

College Events

4.5

There is no management festival in our college. But it is flooded with cultural festivals round the year and most of them are sponsored by big players in the market. Almost all of the students participate in these events. Technical fests include moot court competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is at a bare minimum. As it is a central University Institute, the fee is around Rs. 7500 per annum as compared to other private universities/institutes. Most students don't have enough means, so the fee structure is made according to them.

Fees and Financial Aid

As the fees is bare minimum, scholarships are less. Students get 50% scholarships. With a fees of Rs. 7500 per annum, there would be no requirement of a loan.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is around 50:50. But girls seem to be more than boys. Students have either house parties or go to cafes to chill around. Workshops are conducted by the faculty for the betterment of students. Students from all over india come here to study. Politics play a major role in law faculty.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I don't live in a hostel or PG. But my friends who are not from Delhi tell me about the accommodation here. They don't live in University hostels but in rented flats or PGs. PGs are mostly on sharing basis and cost about 15000 (including everything).

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni of our college are placed in esteemed positions. Students who are studying can interact with the alumni through phone records in college. Moreover, seniors are helpful.

Exam Structure

Exams in our college give students a serious chill. We have to study day and night to get bare minimum (passing) marks. Only a few of the few get 1st division. But class timings are appropriate for students. 8AM to 1:30PM. So, it doesn't leave us with a hectic day.

Admission

The entrance form is available online and its notification comes on the Delhi University homepage. Administration is good as there are no hassles in filling and submitting the form. Just had to go to the homepage and click on the PG entrance link. It is then redirected to another tab. There the personal details, previous college (a person must be a graduate and score minimum of 50% in 3 years). Then you upload your scanned copies of signature, photo and ID card.

Faculty

4

Faculty is outstanding. They take personal interest in teaching their students. Most of the faculty is highly qualified. They at least LL.M. or Ph.D. in general or other specific subjects of law. Most of the teachers engage students in practical work.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very much practical knowledge based and helps the students to grow there legal reasoning which helps them to prosper in the profession. Also it helps them to read and correlate the real time judgements being passed, this curriculum prepares the students to understand the reasoning behind the judgements. Though the curriculum is practical knowledge based it still requires many improvements as these case are old and some of them are even overruled, also the we have to write very long answers which needs to be changed as new methods like ooen text book exams can be adopted to improving.

After 2 years of integrated courses, you can become eligible for a job. In law, there is no company, but if you have good communication skills, you will be placed in one of the high courts or supreme courts under a senior lawyer. I don't know much about packages. My plan was to go to Oxford University for further studies.
