Remarks

The campus can be a bit bigger and there is no place for the students to call a cafeteria, only small sheds behind the college building which other limited items where one had to stand and eat.

Entrance Preview

I had the Jain University entrance test, then after i passed that i had a group discussion with other candidates and then a final personal interview. I opted for this College because they have one of the best bachelor of journalism and mass communication courses in Bangalore.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure is excellent mainly due to the faculties in BAJ department, they provide technical as well as other knowledge and are very involved with the students. The course itself is excellent and is very engaging in nature. Various topics are discussed in day to day classes and it trains future journalists perfectly.

Internships Opportunities

Because i am in my first year, i do not know in detail about the internships, as far as I know, the college has tie ups with many companies.

Placement Experience

3

I do not know as of now.Because i am in my first year, i do not know in detail about the internships, as far as I know, the college has tie ups with many companies. Everyone who passes with more than average marks have been known to be selected by many good companies.

College Events

3

Various colleges from all around the city invite us for events and we have events such as melange and MUN, also the other departments have various managerial fests which are a huge success which tests the skills of many students and encourage many more to show their skills

Fee Structure And Facilities

In the first year for BAJ i paid 1.45.000 The second and third years are 1.35.000 respectively. If you have good marks scholarship schemes are also available. It is comparitively more expensive than other colleges but worth it, as various schemes are available for land and scholarships.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes loan facilities are available as well as scholarship for pupils with good marks. 85%plus in PUC. Pretty easy to get a loan.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratios are proportional to each other 50-50. Sports and other activities are alright, the college has a football and a cricket team, that i know about.i donot know much about sports as i am not interested in it, but many of my friends are in the football and cricket teams

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I do not know, i don't stay in the hostel, as I've heard from my friends the college hostel is pretty good and clean, all facilities including WiFi and television are provided and good vegetarian food is also provided, there are other alright PGs in the area too.

Alumni/Alumna

Most college seniors are chilled and cool, they are helpful and supportive. I've had no experience with aluminis and cannot comment on the same

Exam Structure

All the exams in our department are pretty chill, the teachers give you knowledge rather than spoon feeding you. Research is a big part of our curriculum and the teachers make you research about various topics for the exams, the exams are not hectic any way.

Admission

I filled in and submitted the online application form and I had the Jain University entrance test, then after i passed that i had a group discussion with other candidates and then a final personal interview, then we were made to wait till the results came in, through their website of course and after that we had to pay the fee if we were selected. That is all.

Faculty

3

Excellent faculties, very engaging and responsive, we see teachers as friends rather than teachers, will help the students with their needs. They see students as adults rather than just kids. The faculties are very engaging in their conversations and that invokes a sense of interest in the students.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
