Remarks

College is good, and we have student associations as well as faculty association working for students welfare. This is a quality learning place with a lot of extra curricular activities essential for personality development.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course structure is very elaborate for graduate students. They are offered BS-MS dual degree in a span of 5 years. For first 2 years they are taught courses from all streams of science. After that they can choose from Physic, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Earth Sciences as their major. From year 2018, chemical engineering can also be chosen for major.

Internships Opportunities

Yes college provides internship. Students generally opt for internships in other institutions such as IISc, NCL, NPL, and IITs. Apart from this some students also join research labs for various industries. Average stipend is ranged between 5000-7000 p.m..This figure can change as per the institution or industry.

Placement Experience

4

This is a research oriented institute and very little work is done regarding placements and jobs. Most of the graduates choose higher studies and many of them are now studying in elite institutes and universities of the world. Few choose to work in industry, and rest choose for govt. jobs. But slowly this scenario is changing and placements are on top priority if the institute.

College Events

4.5

There is a number of events, both technical and cultural that the institute hosts. Recently there was Mini-marathon organised by the institute. Technical fest: Singularity. Cultural fest: Enthusia, Sports fest, for inter hostel and inter departmental competitions. HIndi Pakhwada on Hindi diwas. Republic and independence day celebration, Walkathon: Cleanliness and educational awareness drive for nearby colleges, Onam celebration, Ganeshotsav and Dandiya Ras.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible and still lower than many IITs but as per MHRD rule the annual tuition fee of IISERs will be increased by 10% each year until year 2019. I hope the facilities will improve at least if they are charging more fee

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships to be alloted for meritorious students. There is INSPIRE, UGC JRF, GATE and institute fellowships.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is very good here. No unnecessary restriction, freedom to do anything, (unless it doesn't hurt anybody), library is open till midnight, labs are reading sections are open 24-7, students can enjoy their hobbies to fullest in their free time. They can enroll in various sports and can practice with coaches, learn and play music, dance photography and astronomy. there is also Book club for Book lovers, a 400 meter running track, and Gym for fitness freaks. All the facilities are inside campus and guarded 24/7 by vast security force.

Hostel Facilities

4

Clean and spacious hostels with 6 storey buildings with 24 hour water electricity and working elevators. There are 2 hostels for girls and 3 for BS-MS boys and 1 for PhD boys. Rooms are allotted on double and single seater basis, based on seniority. Mess food is average and fee is nominal as the mess contractors are private and not subsidized,

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not so great. Still a lot of work and relations are needed for that to be success.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is very student friendly. There are two examinations each semester, Mid-Sem and End-sem. Syllabus is reasonable and students are given grades according to their performance. Grades are O, A, B, C, D, E, F. There is also a concept of relative and absolute marking. Thats why chance of failing is less.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty are really good, all faculties have excellent profiles with doctorate or research experience from reputed universities of India as well as Europe, US, UK etc. We have elite teachers with remarkable research accolades The quality if teaching is also good.

My course is not easy but I am interesting to study. Microbiology is all about microbes, bacteria, viruses. The paper was neither difficult nor easy. The faculty taught it very well but we did not It is our mistake that we could not do well in any subject, the faculty had provided us all the facilities.
