A brief about IIM AMRITSAR

Being from an IT background, I choose Business Analytics. Most of the faculty are from IIMs, IITs, & NITs. Some of the faculties are very good at teaching and some are average. But everyone has good knowledge.

There are lots of companies that visited our campus and offered a variety of roles and stipends. Some of the prominent recruiters are Adani, Collegedunia, Pepe Jeans, SolarWinds, ICICI Bank, etc. Some of the roles offered are Product Management, Business Development, Customer Success Manager, marketing roles, finance roles, etc.

Summer placements start in the 2nd Semester, while final placements start in the 5th semester. More than 100 companies visit the campus every year. Almost 100% of student gets the placement. The highest package offered this year was approx. 27 lacs for finance.

The previous batch fee was around 13lacs but our fee increased to 16 lacs. The top seven students from the batch got scholarships from college including one from MBA- BA and one from MBA-HR. I got an internship at SolarWinds.

Aarunya is the name of the Annual Fest which is generally scheduled in the month of February. Kritansh is the name of the Sports fest which consists of over 15+ sporting activities. There are many clubs, committees, and cells.

The hostel facilities are quite good. Most of us are given a 2bhk flat for 4 people. There are some single bedrooms also available. The food quality is average but we get a variety of food. There is not much extra work for hostel registration.

I cleared CAT and then PI to get selected. One can easily get information related to CAT when searching on Google. I got little help due to my OBC background as I'm an Engineer so no other academic diversity or gender diversity benefit.

There was only a personal interview for the admission process after clearing CAT and getting a call from IIM Amritsar. It was mainly based on some current affairs, under grad knowledge, and interests & hobbies.
