Course Curriculum Overview
From the school times I have my intrest in agriculture sector and after 12th I am pursuing my B.Sc Ag Hons. from CoA, IGKV. Here in 2022-23 batch has strength of 120 students and for each subject we have one professor and 2 substitute assistant professors and 8 to 10 subjects each semester. Professors are highly qualified and many are gold medalist in their respective fields with 15+ years of teaching experience but the bad thing is that they have old teaching methods and not changing their teaching methods with time and sometimes they dont came to class or take leave without pre-informing.
Fees and Financial Aid
As CoA, IGKV is a government college it has very less fees and you can eaisly afford it, the total fees for 8 semesters including college, library, sports, dispensary, mess and other fees it is roughly around 4 lakhs. For ST, SC, and OBC students yearly scholarships of 35k, 33k, and 20k respectively are there. There are no campous jobs with stipend for bsc students.
Campus Life
Our campus life is excellent, here we have an annual fest during June every year, more than 10 tech fests, and lots and lots of cultural festival celebrations. The library has wifi facility, a computer facility, and more than 80 thousand books. IGKV Raipur is the best sport here we have indoor badminton, table tennis, separate well-equipped gyms for boys and girls both, volleyball, billiards, javelina, and many more.
Admission
In order to get admission to the College Of Agriculture, IGKV, Raipur you have to qualify for either the CGPAT-UG state entrance exam or ICAR-UG national level exam. In CGPAT those whose ranks are under 80 get admission in CoA, and IGKV for the general category. You should have a science background in your higher school either PCB, PCM, or Agriculture. Application form of CGPAT is available in cgvyapam's website every year during April or May and there is no application fees for applying for CGPAT entrance exam. Students belong to ST,SC and OBC category get category ranks and those who belongs to farmers family or from Naxal affected area also have seats reserved for them, moreover seats are also reserved for girls and PDW candidates. Admission process is quite good but should be more better if after the results Document Verification Process timings and details are performed in more detailed manner by the college authority.
