Remarks
I feel that a good college is know by its placements and bmsit fairs well in that zone. You need to keep yourself updated with the latest technology. We even have a club called glug for the same.
Course Curriculum Overview
As far as the electives are concerned VTU does not promote research based learning , its mostly rote learning. however, our college focuses on research development and also promotes startup ideas.
College Events
We have a main fest called UTSAHA. It is not all that great as the college focuses mainly on studies. We also have internal department fests.Computer Science department hosts fest every year called semaphore. Other department fests are great as well. Lot of students put in their efforts in organizing these events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There are three types of students- the ones who come from CET exam, the ones who give COMEDK and the ones who come from management quota. The ones who come from CET pay nearly 50k every year. The comedk students pay 1.5lac per year and the ones coming from management pay 2-3 lac per year(not sure about this though).
Campus Life
The campus life is mainly about studying. If you are looking for extra curricular activities , this is not the place to be as they are not promoted here. However if you have new ideas for startups then the college will be more than happy to support you. We have a good girl guy ratio. You can mostly find locals here.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are the best in Bangalore . The girls hostel is not in campus but is located around 5 km from the college whereas the boys hostel is within the campus. College bus is provided for girls hostel. The food is good and chicken is provided every Wednesday and Sunday.
Alumni/Alumna
They have a great alumni network and have recently started events wherein they call alumni to college. They even call the alumni during placement training for them to share their experiences and tips with the students.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is not in the hands of the college. Since we are affiliated to VTU , the structure is mainly decided by the university to ensure uniformity in all colleges. However, the autonomous colleges experience higher percentage/grades due to the fact that the process is internal and VTU exams are lot more tougher.
Admission
I gave the common entrance test (CET) test. I filled the form online and then waited for the admit card to come. I had chosen the center as Bangalore. It consisted of two papers. the first paper was conducted in morning and was of mathematics and the other paper comprised of physics and chemistry. After this the exam results were declared and i had to move KEA center for verification and later selected the college of my choice.
