Remarks

Yes. The campus buildings are getting old. Some areas look like a railway station and the entrances etc. Are outdated. We should have better buildings, after all it is the best college in India.

Entrance Preview

IIT-JEE, 288 marks. Top Electrical engineering faculty, world class opportunities and employability. One of the best in India. It was my dream to study at an IIT, and IIT-D is the best of all.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is quite comprehensive. We get to learn a lot from the first year itself. We get recruitment papers for clubs: the robotics club, the dance society, etc. The course is very theoretical and we get access to labs later in the day where we can experiment. It is quite cool that way. We get tutorial sessions and research themes to work on while studying which is quite enriching. At the end, you need to present and submit a paper, which gives a good technical experience in writing.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. Internships are great. Goldman Sachs for CS, Toyota for mechanical, Mercedes Benz etc for Electrical - even Intel corp. The stipend is basically the entire salary that an employee will earn, which is about 1L a month for full time. That is cool. Very cool. You can easily get your bills covered.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are world class. You get the world's best companies competing to take our students. I know of my senior who got into Google's Hardware Lab with an annual income of 90,000 USD!!!! The rest is already great. The newspapers are always filled with details and records being broken each year. I am a first year student, so I don't know much in detail about the packages but yeah, I definitely know about these mind blowing facts. Typically, the packages are on the range of 45L - 75L . With some going post Cr range. There are very few sub 30L figures. None in some way.

College Events

3

We have got plenty of stuff happening on campus. The fresher's night has been the best surprises in college so far. It is great. Professors and students celebrate, seniors introduce themselves, you get to make your groups. Then we have got fraternities so that is cool too. Also we host Rendezvous -- the cultural fest and Tryst-- the technical fest where students from all around the world participate. It is the best college ever!!!!!!

Fee Structure And Facilities

For me at least, it is very feasible. World class education dirt cheap. For some, yes it is quite expensive but then we have got internships etc. So the cost cuts down literally. The structure is on an annual basis, where you pay for everything from Dining to Tuition to Bedding etc (if in hostel) at one time at the starting of the session, so you have the rest of the year the tension free.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, I don't know of any such scholarships. But yeah, research stipends are available. You need a particular GPA for that along with a letter of reference from a professor. But that is maximum 10000 Rs. Per month.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is great, and even though the course is demanding, the life is quite chilled out. We usually get to see only about 10 girls in a class of 50 students. Which is quite less. But the ratio goes up significantly in different courses. Biotechnology has almost all girls classes. Extracurriculars extend from robotics to culinary clubs to drama clubs to social work to international rocketry competitions. Everything. You find students who are like-minded in every field and every aspect. The campus is very accepting in nature and has the Bihari society, the Raipur association which take care of minorities and rural area students' experiences and introduction.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are good. They are on a sharing basis. 2 people per room in my block and it goes up to 4 people in a room. It is till the early years in college. After which you need to shift to PGs in Kali Saris, Ber Sarai, Hauz Khas. There are locations for every budget. Average is about 15000 bucks per month. Rooms can be shared by 2-3 people so the cost is pocket friendly. Food is okayish in the mess. You definitely get to eat superb and very cheap food outside of the campus.

Alumni/Alumna

I haven't really got to know alumni, but the seniors are certainly great. They help you with assignments, tell you which books to read, what not to indulge in. They basically give an effective and essential introduction to college life.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs all together. We call it a hell week. Literally. Just 3 hours of study if you want to pass. Hectic day. But you know, it is really worth it. You get to enjoy your post exams parties. That is the time everything is pretty chilled out. But most people hate this. But you need to study hard for a better future, so...

Admission

The JEE forms were available somewhere between the first week of December. I registered online and the admit card for mains was available in early march. I got my center in Delhi. It was an okayish center. The testing administration is quite strict. We weren't allowed to carry pencil boxes but just carry the pens for the test. All the process was paperless and fast, which have time to study.

Faculty

5

Great. My current professor is from MIT! what else do you want? Faculty is from the best colleges in the world teaching to the best college in nation. They really know the subject very well and are super friendly. One of my engineering analysis prof even called me for dinner where we discussed the course and other light hearted discussions.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
