Course Curriculum Overview
I took the flagship MBA from NMIMS Mumbai as it was in synch with my previous Work Experience. It was my desire to upskill my learning from my time as a professional with theoretical business concepts. The faculty-to-student ratio is usually 1:30, with brightly lit and big classrooms with Audio Visual Tech available. Faculties were industry professionals who had achieved accolades in their particular field of work. Also, the majority of them had PhDs and were very competent. The teaching method was completely case based and dependent on the discussion in a class by students in which the teacher nudges us towards interesting viewpoints Exams like Quizzes could be once a week and they required regular study. Midterms were three weeks after the start of the trimester and there were final exams at the end of the trimester. Exams as such were sometimes case based or theory based. Diffuculty was quite moderate
Internships Opportunities
1. Pepsi, Dabur, Welspun, Google, Hexaware, Accenture Strategy, IBM, Intel and a lot more. Ranging from 50,000-250,000/month 2. Projects included things like: "Company XYZ wants to enter target market ABC. What are the product extensions that can be done?" OR "Company XYZ wants to tweak its pricing in this target market. Analyse potential impact"
Placement Experience
We are eligible from the 5th trimester. We can also get offers via performing well in our summer internships and bag Pre Placement Offers. (PPO) Over 600 offers were made for 550 students. Examples of Companies: Google, Amex, Samsung, Microsoft, Pepsi, IBM, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc. Average Package: 26L Highest Package: 70L 100% placements. Not one person remained unplaced.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee hike every year is around 10% and I believe that the tuition fee for the upcoming 2025 batch is 26L. Furthermore one has living expenses which can range from 3.5L-6L a year dependent on one's lifestyle and propensity to spend. I got an internship from Welspun Group for my summer placements.
Campus Life
Euphoria is the major fest which occurs in March of every year. As an avid reader, the library is filled with books of study, fiction and non-fiction. A strong digital library furthered with automation makes the library a very seamless experience. Air conditioning is always on with comfortable chairs and plugs points for laptops and phones. A fully equipped smart board with markers, lasers and Bose speakers are equipped. Professors are provided with mics as well Due to not having a full-fledged hostel majority of the sports like Cricket and Football are played by booking turfs in and around Juhu, Andheri West and Santa Cruz. Not Just Marketing, IIPC, ARC, Student Council, Optimuz, HRuday, Finomenon, etc. No such website exists, only insta handles.
Admission
Apply for NMAT which is a Management exam to get into MBA for all colleges and streams under the School of Business Management. Please find it on the internet No reservation was available. But there is a pseudo reservation of 30% for Women I took the NMAT exam and scored 246. The cut-off in that year was 235 with 76 in QA/LR/Verbal as the sectional cutoffs. Due to the admission process being in Feb 2020, it was completely virtual. We had one WAT exam followed by a Personal Interview. The PI was completely centred around my professional career and the basics of marketing,
