Remarks

College management is unbiased with the selection of students. There is nothing bad about the college or the management.

Entrance Preview

Entrance exam is not required for the admission. Students get admission in to the college purely on the merit basis.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is fantastic. During my graduation days, the college was associated with the Madras University. Now it is an autonomous college and the curriculum is solely decided by the management board. The syllabus is of top grade, and recently updated.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are not mandatory for all courses. Only certain courses need internships. Students need to undergo internship for specific courses. For, e.g. I myself had internship for about 2 months for my BCS course.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements and job opportunities are good enough for the talented students. End of the day students should also prove their metal to succeed in this highly competitive corporate world which are very selective in picking the students during campus recruitment's.

College Events

4.5

Sports, cultural, quiz competitions, and other co-curricular activities are conducted. Inter-college competitions are also held. Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai is known for nurturing cricket talent among its students.Various other sport events are also given importance at par with cricket.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is very much subsidized and suits all the members, even the poor, lower, upper middle-class people can also easily afford to study here. Now after the college has become autonomous, I believe they have slightly increased the fee structure to be competitive with other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

College does provide scholarship to those students who are not able to afford to pay the fees. Good talented people even from a poor background can be assured of proper support from the management.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is always fun-filled, with lots of energetic students around. Since this is boys only college, there are no girls here. Students from all backgrounds study here. Students from all over India come to study here, even from North, East, West India.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel facilities and the mess food were excellent. I myself was an hostel student and stayed in college hostel for 3 years during my graduation. Strict discipline is followed and strong cultural values are taught to the students. Prayers are held twice a day, daily.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, with the recent technology advancement, students keep in touch with each other through various social networks. The seniors are also supportive and helpful to the juniors. They also come forward and provide counselling support to the juniors.

Exam Structure

Exam's are conducted on a regular basis. During my time when college was affiliated with Madras University, exams were conducted thrice a year with one final public exam. Now that the college is following semesters, they conduct final exams every trimester i.e. one final exam in every 3 months.

Admission

Admission to this college is on the merit basis. First application is to be submitted for the particular course, then management examines all the applications and students with highest marks are given admission. The entire process is unbiased. There are no admission fees required here unlike other private colleges.

Faculty

4.5

College has got some very good and experienced faculties. Most of these faculties are renowned professors with great knowledge and experience. They know their stuff and are talented enough to keep their students engaged during their lectures. Very interactive and supportive to the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The specific aspect will be accounting that made me choose this couse. The curriculum made me to prepare for future accounting field works and knowledge around the field. The improvements that I suggest may is to add more relevent real life job experience in subject books itself. As per me who is one of a topper student in my college, The difficulty is moderate to me and timing of exams are more enough to fill all the questions.

Placement Experience:

In MCC there is placement but it's not 100% placement, only 10 to 20 from a class of 60 gets placed, so when it comes to placement it's upto to you and your skills. Normaly the placement enrollment starts at beginning of your 5th semester or end of your fourth semester, you can opt for placement or higher study. The highest package was from Standard Chartered & Deloitte it was 6 Lakhs CTC. Accenture, TCS and some well known companies will participate in placement drive. The average package will be Rs.3.5 Lakhs CTS. I'm planning to go for higher studies while doing a part time job after getting degree.
