Days in IERT

I choose civil engineering because I love this branch, many govt engineering jobs are there open for civil engineers. Faculties are well-educated and qualified. Some had done PhD from NIT, rest of them had done M.tech from NITs and state universities. Their teaching methods are easy to understand and to the point. Term exams are easy as compared to IITs, and NITs. We all start reading one day before the exam. There is a book QUANTUM SERIES of every subject which consists of the previous year asked questions, with the help of this book only you can pass exam with flying colours.

This year, the placement cell becomes very active, and many of the students get jobs opportunity. From 6-7 semesters, students are eligible for placement. Many companies had visited like L&T, adani, prism, Jaypee, chest inc, bkt tyre, planet spark,tcs,wipro, Infosys, IBM etc. The highest package offered is 52lpa by Goldman Sachs, and the average package is 4lpa. 70% of students are getting placements. As I am a civil engineer, so I prefer govt job rather than placement. So my plans are to prepare for govt engineering jobs.

The fees of this college are not much more as compared to another private engineering college which is 5800/year + 7685 exam fees per year. But these fees can also be reimbursed by the UP scholarship scheme. Many students are benefited from scholarship. Each year 56600 scholarship came for fee reimbursement.

There are many fests organised, namely technovation- a technical fest organised in the month of May, Udabhav- a cultural fest organised in the month of November/December, Krida Kumbh- a physical outdoor gaming event Hostel premier league - a cricket match organised by hostelers. There are two libraries one is the reference library and another is the central library, you rarely found any new books from the library. In the name of amenities in the classroom, there is only a tube light, fan, and light bulb, and CCTV camera(only during semester exams). There are many clubs in the computer science area, like google developer students club(gdsc), TensorFlow, etc. These are run by students and for students belonging to any branch.

Hostel facilities are ok-ok type, but hostel food is best in that area. If you eat and think its taste is not so good, then I suggest going to your friend's room who is living in pg, just taste their food. I guarantee you will come back to your hostel and you get to know the real value & taste of this hostel food. I don't say it is best from anywhere or your home, but better than typical hostel food. In 1st yr room, three sitters only, in 2nd yr variety of rooms, single, double, triple, quadruple. In the 3rd yr and 4th yr, there is only two sitters. Registration for hostel: you have to write an application form for hostel accommodation during admission. Then after a few days according to marks and distance between home and college, a list is prepared with some waitlisted students. In 1st year, there is 90-person accommodation with 7-8 people in the common room also. If you choose a rented room or pg, then you can go to Baghada (chota & bada), Prayag, colour side in search of room/lodge/pg.

Eligibility of btech course is 12th standard passed with 60% with maths subject. I had selected by giving the UPTU entrance exam but now you have to give at least one jee mains exam. And on the basis of the score obtained in the exam, you have to fill out the counselling form and select a college and branch according to your preference. Application fees for jee the main exam are approx 1000 for general candidates.
