Remarks
The best thing about the college is that there is lot to gain from the kind of exposure you get from the varied kinds of people from different walks of life who have a lot to share and inspire everyone. Many lecturers are gifted and have a lot of knowledge to impart. And the worst thing is no one is ready to share irrespective of the fact that they want to. Lots of resources in the college to be utilised but due to poor management and lack of a good leader may not make it the best but still it is the best.
Entrance Preview
Eamcet entrance for admission into medical stream. The option of the college was mostly based on merit and ranking system. The reason why I chose it was because it was a government college and the out patient was very good as well as having an affordable fee structure.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is age old. There should be many changes according to the changing generation and the technology should be put to proper use. Research based teaching is minimal. The focus should be given to research as it is the ground for future inventions. More practical component should be focused rather than theoretical teaching. The lecturers should be encouraged to upgrade themselves.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is mandatory and the most important part of the entire education process. General stipend during our course was 5k per month and surely must have increased by now. As the out patient in the hospital is exceptional, internship was the most educative. If the professors were more willing and practice in teaching there is an immense scope of learning.
Placement Experience
Job opportunities for post graduates are good. But having said that just the teaching staff posts are up for placements and a lot of politics and caste discrimination is there. No clear path for job placements but people with the right contacts did land up in jobs.
College Events
Cultural events were held annually and were celebrated in a massive way. Sports events were held in between the colleges annually as well as in the college quarterly. It was a good means to have fun and maintain fitness as well as to relieve stress from thwart hectic studies.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is affordable and paid annually. Examination fees are affordable and paid before the examinations. There is a transparency in the fee structure and most of the fees were utilise for the degradation of the lab facilities which is a good thing. The government colleges did not have many seats for NRI quota so the remaining seats were usually considered free seats and were quite feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
No loan facility but scholarships were numerous. Availed a scholarship in internship and 3rd year. But due to the pathetic administration, did not get the benefit of one scholarship as the cheque was lost by the administrative office.
Campus Life
Reservation for ladies so obviously the class was full of girls compared to boys. Full of ranging and discrimination based on caste was the main campus life. Groups based on caste were numerous. Very narrow minded people with little respect towards all the classes of people.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was the worse. There were rooms on twin sharing and 3 sharing basis. But the room for 3people were shared by 5 or 6 people especially during the new admissions. Pathetic living conditions with basic necessities in rotten conditions. Walls were mouldy and bathrooms never clean. Students slept on the ground as there weren't enough beds. No study tables in many rooms. Heaters wouldn't work properly and no ac facility. Hostel mess was ok.
Alumni/Alumna
Not an active member of the alumnus as it is still managed by the same people who ruined the college. But I guess they are doing a good job by bridging gaps and bringing people together. Seen a lot of change in their personalities and how they overcoming the negatives and imbibing a positive environment for the recently passed out students.
Exam Structure
Exams structure yearly was a relaxed way to encourage students to study without any stress. Internal were a great was to keep in progress with the schedule. It was proportionate to the methods of teaching. Labs and practicals were a mere formality rather that testing the skills.
Admission
After the results and rranks were announced, the notification for admissions were announced in the newspaper. Within 2 rounds the admission process was finished. There were quite many hassles during the admission process due to the caste priorities and college administration selling the seats as NRI quota.
Faculty
1% of the faculty is interested in actual teaching. The rest of all are more interested in politics and internal affairs of the students. Poor ethics except for a very few exceptional professors. Non clinical staff and nurses do their job dutifully and are helpful as well.
