Course Curriculum Overview

3

I had an interest in Computer Science and hence chose this course. The faculty: student ratio is 30:70. Nearly all of the faculty is of assistant professor level and the teaching method is based on ppts and suggested books only. The exams were held at very specific times during the year such as mid-semester exams will start at two months at the beginning of the semester and end-semester exams will hold on one month after mid-semester exams. And they were moderately hard and required some effort to pass.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Internship opportunities are available through T&P cell or off-campus but as of now, students are allowed to take 6 months of internships too. The stipend varies from 10k to 50k rupees max. There are also research opportunities available within the institute which can be performed under faculty for 2 month period and will be awarded a certificate after completion and will be eligible for grading as well.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students are eligible for campus placement from the beginning of the 7th semester but are allowed for internships in the previous semester. Many companies visit the institute some of them are Swiggy, Technion, and Atlassian. And nearly all the students are placed. SDE profiles are offered 95 percent of the time. And highest package is 65LPA followed by 54LPA and 50 LPA from Atlassian, adobe, and Microsoft. The placement percentage is from 92-97%. I got placed during the placement drive and after getting the degree will be working full-time.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is on par with other institutions of similar positions. The fee hike happens every two years including hostel fees. There are many scholarships available for students belonging to different cultures and support a considerable amount. I got a job in the service-based finance industry.

Campus Life

4

There are annual fests such as Saptrang and Sentience. The month of the fests is not fixed and can variate time to time. They are conducted in not a big fashion and are below average. The books and journals are available to study at the spot for everyone but for borrowing them there is a preference for sc/st students first then followed by general students. The classrooms are well-equipped and fully advanced for teaching. Sports and other activities are given very high importance and are conducted every day for practice and annual matches. All the social, literary, tech, src, and other clubs are run by students.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

In the hostels, there are two beds, two study tables, and two Air conditioners in every hostel room. There are separate toilets and bathrooms with separate washing basins for every student. The meal is of average quality and the menu is fixed for the week and repeats weekly. The registration process is very hectic and requires a lot of effort with staff and documentation but is available for every student. For rents and pg, there are facilities which are very far from the institute but are very affordable.

Admission

The admission process was very smooth and easy. I applied through CSAB counseling and got my seat booked through the same. I had to freeze my seat and pay the application fee in the beginning to start my application process. The application was available in the CSAB portal itself. And its fee was 25000 rupees. State reservation is available for students belonging to the same state as an institute. No improvement to be considered as it was very organized and well managed.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
