Jims-go there to ruin your future!!

JIMS is not very good choice if you want to succeed in IT field. The level of teaching is poor and placement record is average. Management is very strict and will call your parents for very small issues.

I took the IPU BCA entrance exam, my rank was 812. I opted for jims rohini because of the placement record and the college rank in the university.

The academics in the college is very poor. The libraries are vary small and lacks the course books. The staff of the college is not good and repetative staff in each semester. The labs are very small and lacks computers so there is very less practical classes. Mostly we have to share the computers or bring our own laptops for practical classes.

No there was no sort of internship provided by the college. There was a "internship" provided during my stay at the college which was actually sales person at zara completely irrelevant to my course.

Placement is average. In the batch of 60 students around 25-30 got placed at a package as low as 120,000 per year. The average salary offered by the companies must be around 2 lakh rupees. Some big names did come up in the college like zs assosiates,tech mahindra,infosys,tcs,sap labs and wipro but the placement ratio was very less.

There are various cultural events that regularly take place in the college the main event called verve take place every year in the month of march it is a 3 day event. In the beggining of the course year there is a fresher party for the new batch and at the end there is farewell party for the departing batch.

Fee structure is quite feasable. The first year fee is around 72k and they will ask for extra 3000 for the book bank for 3 years which is quite cheap. Second year was 67k so is third. It is not so expensive for a bachelor degree and college did charge for the events and fuctions in the first year fee itself.

No there was no scholarship or loan facility offered by our college as most of the students admitted through the ipu counselling process. The fee is same for all the students.

Most of the students are male. In my class there were 60 students out of which 12 were female rest were male. Campus life was awful as there was no playground and no space to hang out the campus is very small. Extra curricular activities were very good and there is always an event going on in the college. Labs are very poor there were like only 4 labs in the college with 25 computers per lab. There is a annual sports meet take place in the college which is very good it was a 3 day event and various sports took place during that time.

There was no hostel in the college premesis although there was a hostel outside which is I am not aware of as i was a local student. The college has one cafeteria and one canteen the quality of the food served in canteen was okay and in budget. Canteen has a centralised AC and it's chilled all the time although it lacks the seating capacity.

I have not meet any alumni during my college time although there were various senior students who were my friends in the college they all help in the studies and are very helpful.

Exams is something the college is very strict about. There is zero tolence on the attandance. Exams system was good at the college exams and labs were very chilled out. There were two internal exams and the student only marked according to there internal scores. For example if a student score 35 out 50 he will be marked 7 out of 10 in the internal marks. Don't expect them to gift you any marks they are only marked according to your performance.

I got admission through IPU counselling process. I got admitted in the second round of counselling.once i was alloted the college i went to the college and fill up there admission form. The administration was well trained in the false promises about the placement and all.

The faculty is overall poorly qualified and lacks in teaching skills, not saying every teacher was bad but mostly are there are some very good and qualified teachers as well. The institute lacks the staff we usually get same teacher for different subjects. Example- the same teacher will teach you vb.net in one semester and data structures in another semester.
