Internship Wrapup

I have chosen this department because I have some interest in this department and also due to the rank constraint. Electrical Engineering is the second best branch according to the saying of the people. There are a very large number of faculty members each one is highly qualified in their field. There is always research work happening in the labs by them for innovations. The teaching method of every professor is unique but at the end of the day, we have to learn by ourselves. There are quizzes very frequently depending on the course and the professor some courses have 2 quizzes, some have 4 while some have 7-8 quizzes(every week). There were mid-sem and one end-sem exam in a semester.

There are various types of internships available here: Summer Internships: These are conducted in the summer breaks and last from a couple of weeks to a few months. We got the opportunity to work on research projects under the guidance of professors or in collaboration with industry partners. Winter Internships: It is similar to summer internships but the main difference is that is during the winter breaks. These internships provide us with hands-on experience and exposure to research and industry projects. Internship Programs conducted by IIT Kanpur in collaboration with government agencies, research organizations, and corporate partners. These programs often have a structured curriculum and provide students with a good experience of the internship. There is a famous program named SURGE conducted by IIT Kanpur regarding this.

From the third semester Student are eligible for the Internship for the company which is also provided by the college or students can also apply from somewhere else. Approximately 300+ companies arrived on the campus and they made around 1200+ offers for the student. The highest package received is 4.2 crore and this is offered by Janestreet. He is a student of Computer Science and Engineering. The average package of each branch is different with CSE having the highest and then Mathematics and then Electrical Engineering. The overall average of the package is around 2000000 per annum. Almost all students are placed this year ( 97% ). I will do a job or a startup which I will think about in the upcoming years.

There are various types of fees in the college for the smooth functioning of your semester. Tuition fees of about 1 lakh, mess establishment charges of about 13000, mess charges of 10000, medical insurance charges, security charges, water charges, exam fees, and many more. These subtotals of about 126000 per semester which fluctuate in every semester according to the courses. There are various types of scholarships available for the student based on their performance in the semester rank in the jee advance and based on the degree they are pursuing and also on the family income. Merit-cum-means scholarship, Inspire scholarship, etc. Inspire is for the BS students with jee advanced rank constraints. In MCM scholarship you have to maintain your CPI above 6 and also a family income constraint.

There are four councils in the college- game, and sports council, Academic and career council, Media and cultural council, and Science and Technology Council. This council has various clubs like dance, photography, film-making, Book. There are also teams in our college like ERA, Humanoid, Ariel Robotics, Vision, and many more clubs under the Science and technology council. There are three annual fests: Antaragini at the start of the year, Udghosh in October, and Techkriti. There is the 2nd biggest library in India P.K. Kellker Library having a collection of 4lakh books and journals. There is much scope for every sport each one has a coach. There is also an Olympic-sized swimming pool on campus.

The admission process is quite fine, Firstly I have given Jee mains and then Jee Advanced. I have cleared Jee Advanced with a rank of 2423. This allows me to opt for Electrical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. My OBC rank was 387 and I have received admission to a college in Electrical engineering. There was no admission form for this all happened online through the Jossa counseling service. We only have to come and join the college after payment of admission fees. There was a cutoff rank for every branch.
