VITAM Review

The College is overall pretty good for Engineering. I graduated from ECE, and I must thank the college management, the faculty staffs, the fellow students in my college to support me all through my engineering career to achieve short goals, such as under.

The admissions are generally considered on the basis of EAMCET exam. Then you have to attend for the counselling which is very easy.

The course is moderate. I had choose Ece . I consider this group to be the best in this college. VITAM is affiliated to JNTU Kakinada, which is one of the most renowned universities in AP. So, The course curricula for all the courses are strictly in accordance with the JNTU-defined framework and rules. I didn't find any kind of divergence from the JNTU-defined curriculum throughout my studies there. Talking about research and other meritorious stuffs, VITAM does provide full support to those who are keen. But The general crowd of students are not too keen except a few.

No, The College doesn't provide any kind of internship. But some students did a 15-day internship at Vizag Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam. The college gave consent for it, and we learnt pretty much good things there too. There was no stipend. Some of my friends underwent interships at BSNL also. They also learnt good stuffs there and later presented them in the college.

This College has a good placement when compared with other colleges in the city.the average placement salary was in between 7 to 8 lakhs per annum.

Tech Fests are organized every year. Freshers' Day celebrations are also organized every year. The Tech Fests have proved to be really bigger in the past, as I have observed. This is one college in this region where students have always come to participate in various events from various other colleges nearby.

For Management Quota students ( students in this category are generally from states other than AP), fee is around 90, 000 INR per year. For Local students coming from EAMCET, Half the fee is generally re-imbursed by the Government of AP. So, The Fee structure may seem to be feasible for localites while it may seem somewhat expensive for the students from other states.

Major Banks readily have given loans to students in the past, and I know many of the students availing the scholarship from the Government of AP also.

The college management provided us Hostel only in the first year. Later, They stopped providing hostel facilities at all. So, for now There is no Hostel from the College management side. The college is situated at a distance of around 35 KMs from the city.

I didn't have any connections with the alumni. But The college management does keep all the records of various alumnis, and these contacts do come in handy many a times.

The JNTU Exam structure changes with every regulation. But The general structure consists of 2 mid exams in each semester, out of which only the one with the best score in the paper is considered for inclusion in the final calculation.
