My overall experience at Kingston Law College

I chose this course because of Kingston Law colleges reputation as a flag bearer in legal education in West Bengal. It is one of the finest private colleges for law in the state. The college enjoys a 22:1 student-teacher ratio, ensuring personal interaction with professors. The professors are highly qualified legal academicians who come from diverse professional backgrounds and industry experience. The professors teach via a variety of methods, with the Socratic mode of teaching being preferred to a purely didactic mode. The use of technology to aid the teaching-learning process is also something that stuck out for me as being state-of-the-art.

The internship committee reaches out to various law firms, NGOs, and legal practitioners to offer on the ground training for students. While the students are free to reach out for internship opportunities as they see fit, the university ensures that everyone gets to intern at a place, relevant to their interest and merit.

The college has a placement cell that works tirelessly to ensure a seamless transition to professional life. A wide range of employers, from large law firms and individual legal practitioners participate in the process.

During the course of my study at Kingston I faced no problems due to fee hikes or other similar managerial decisions. The management is extremely empathetic to the needs of the students and makes available every opportunity for financial assistance so that the student can comfortably complete their courses.

There are at least two seminars held every week at Kingston Law College, covering diverse topics like financial investments, personal financial well-being, legal topics, technology, etc. These seminars are fun and improve the social life of the students. The libraries are extremely well maintained with all the relevant legal literature a young academic could wish for. The classrooms are spacious and well-equipped as per modern educational standards. The natural beauty of the campus cannot be overstated, with its lush green landscape, it provides a most conducive environment for growth, academic and non-academic.

After sitting for my 10+2 exams, I sat for the law school entrance test conducted by Kingston Educational Institute. The requirement for entry into the BA LLB course is that you must have passed your 10+2 exams. The application form can be found on the Kingston law college website.
