Course Curriculum Overview
I've been personally interested in Computer Science for quite some time now, started my coding journey back in 11th grade at school. The course curriculum is the usual, fairly decent amount of optional tracks offered as well. Most of the faculty members are quite supportive. The one thing that stood out for me was the mindset of the faculty, they're not inclined towards conventional opinions, instead, they encourage you to think out of the box and go beyond books & theory to expand your knowledge & skillset. They're quite supportive whenever guidance is required and guide you through various co-curricular events like Hackathons & such. In terms of qualification, all of them are highly qualified and pretty knowledgeable. Exams are held almost every month, with mid-semester exams and end-semester exams along with vivas and practical exams. They're fairly challenging but not absurdly difficult.
Internships Opportunities
As mentioned earlier, there are a ton of internship opportunities and collaborations for both internships & placements plus other events. Examples are BYJU, Microsoft, Cognizant, TCS, Corizo, etc. There are great guidance sessions held for these as well.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are fairly decent, I'm currently entering 3rd semester and we've been offered 3 models.. a regular one, an internship one, and an IEEE one for members of the IEEE student branch. Internship opportunities are offered at large, with a ton of collaborations. Also same goes for placement opportunities ranging from TCS to Cognizant & such. Right from the beginning of the 3rd year, we're eligible for internships and research projects. Recently, some of the seniors got placed in tech giants like BYJU and Microsoft. The average package is around 4.5L per annum. I'm personally planning to get into full-stack software development after graduation, so apart from an internship, open-source contributions, and personal projects are my modes of choice.
Fees and Financial Aid
The average annual fee is around 78k INR with some minor extra charges for exam forms (2500 INR) and professional regulatory charges (750 INR). Scholarships and financial assistance are provided through various means. Campus jobs and internships are also available in various departments.
Campus Life
Life at the campus is good. Variety of student clubs to choose from in addition to the plethora of events that take place throughout the year. The annual cultural fest Junoon is held at a great scale with an overflowing crowd. Tech fests and other technical events such as hackathons are also conducted and/or supported. The infrastructure is great. Libraries, well-equipped labs with great connectivity, and also, a special Apple lab for students interested in the tech giant. Also a supercomputer, Param Shavak has been granted to the university by the Government of Gujarat. The classrooms are spacious and well-lit. Sports & extracurricular activities are conducted around the clock. The official website and portals are all developed by the students so that's quite promising and nice to have.
Admission
The admission process was fairly simple. It includes the usual ways like ACPC, JEE rank & personal interview-based. The eligibility is not very difficult to achieve for the courses, it's fairly within reach for determined students. All the details regarding the application form, fees, and dates plus information about the university are available on the official website.
