Siddharth's Review On Dharmsinh Desai University - [DDU], Nadiad

DDU sets apart itself by its 'internal' exams. It makes student responsible enough for the future challenges. The college needs a better infrastructure with better administration. It also needs to ensure better placements with better exposure to internships and live projects.

It takes admit through common merit prepares from GUJCET and GSHSEB exams. I got admit through ACPC counselling. There was no interview. I studied electronics and communication at DDU.

Course had many things for student like practical applications, areas under electronics where real world operates and so on. Most subjects had a laboratory exam so focus was on practical side. There is a Shah Schulman research center in college. Faculty undergo PhD at DDU. Electives were not available in faculty of technology as such.

Internships were provided by college in last semester. Experience was good since you understand the actual things which work in telecom or core electronics and so on. Average stipend was 0 since major companies had no stipend policy. However some offered around 8-12k per month.

Placements are little disappointing. Considering EC branch, nearly 60-70% batch gets placed. Einfochips, Infosys, igate etc were some of the companies which often visit for placements. Average package would stand near 3 Lacs p.a

Felicific is a technocultural Fest and clarotechnico is more or less technical fest. Average footfall would be around 2000. Faculty and seniors contributed well in the organization and various committees would work for the fests.

It was 80000 per year in self-finance whereas for government it's around 10k per year. Now the fees is above 1.4 Lacs which is not affordable.

Scholarship was provided to topper of the branch. There were some scholarship to category students.

College has its own magazine. Moreover, there is a playground for cricket, football, volleyball etc. Table tennis, chess ,badminton and other sport facilities are there. Talent can be showcased during annual events.

Hostel rooms were pretty good. Triple occupancy basis. I don't know the charges now. Mess food was average. Sometimes good but not always.

No alumni fests as such hence interaction with alumni is not ideally up to the mark.alumni meets are held but where only alums meet which again doesn't add any value to students present in current batch. Some re framing is required since alumni are very helpful for DDU.

Not often. Exams were fun at DDU. Culture is pretty chill since attendance criteria is been brought down to 75%.

Faculty during core courses introduction are pretty experienced. Standard of teaching varies from subject to subject. They are interactive in a way that they are available outside class hours too.
