Remarks

I got this college in mop, up a round of counseling as I didn't get the college I want in previous rounds. Of course, for admission, you have to be NEET qualified and a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of admission or before completion of 1st year and have a score of 560/570+ for state quota in the general category and 600+ for AIQ in the general category. For OBC and EWS you can make the cut-off 5-15 marks less. SC/ST categories can get the college 300-400 marks. The admission process is not very tedious. You have to bring the mark sheets of classes 10 11 12 and an undertaking from your school that you have passed your exams from the same school(and other documents like caste certificates if applicable). Original documents are submitted to the college so make sure to have some copies with you, the college does provide you with an option to take them back temporarily if you ever need the original documents. You then have to pay the fees and you're done with the admission procedure.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My batch 2021, was a batch of transition, from covid batch to normal batches, so we had less time to cover the whole course as compared to the regular term, which was manageable to some extent. The exams are held in the following manner- term, mid-terms, send-ups(similar to preboards in school, practice), and finals It's a little hard to pass the college exams but in the finals, it's easier comparatively not to slack off as minor mistakes can lead to failure. The faculty is pretty helpful if you're dedicated enough to the subject and your studies, as it is hard for the faculty to keep track of a class of 250 students. Overall HODs and professors are very helpful, they will be there to assist you at every step, it's up to you how to use it for your own advantage.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

After last year's examinations, there is an internship period of 5-6 months. As Punjab is a bond-free state, there is no rural bond so you're free to practice wherever you want after the internship. You get to work in every department. The college has a separate hospital for the ENT department which is at a distance of 400-500 m from the main hospital.

Fees and Financial Aid

I feel as if the fees are a little too much, previously it was less than 1 lakh but it was increased a few years back. But I have seen some scholarships that are provided to some students, who are I guess EWS or below BPL, details of the same can be made available at the administration block. Even the students who get distinction get prize money from the department which is something I find impressive.

Campus Life

4

No such fest is conducted by the college itself, but there are various events that take place in the college which are organized by various student bodies. There are a few clubs in the college, where discussions take place about daily lives and small-scale events are conducted, organized by the senior's PGs SRs JRs, and even some senior doctors which I never imagined could see anywhere in a medical college. It's a fun experience. There's more to this but you have to experience it. There is a very big playground, tennis court, badminton court, basketball court, small gardens, a student center which has its own gym, a swimming pool, pool table, table tennis room, a cafe and much more. The college library is also huge and has many books which one uses.

Curriculum was not an influence to be specific for me to choose MBBS, it's my father's dream to see me as a doctor As mentioned already curriculum is tough , thereby it prepares us to be very very good doctors.. I don't think am a suitable person to add suggestions to improve the curriculum, there are way better and experienced persons and doctors . Frequency of exams in medical College is usually very high, and my perspective is that theses exams are actually very tough
