Mourya's Review On Kakinada Institute Of Engineering And Technology -[KIET], West Godavari

The college is good but it is taking a lot of time in travelling by the buses. There are also many risks of bus accidents. There is less lab equipment for doing practicals. The placement training is also not good and a lot of changes has to be made in the way that they provide the training. Many Alumni's like me are left jobless and preventive measures should be taken in such away that my sub juniors shouldn't be job less. I have one of the best experiences which no none can have but to a contrast its a tragedy experience. I joined in this college as my friends joined.

I just wrote the Andhra Pradesh entrance exam EAMCET. There is a minimum qualifying mark for entering into the college. There are donations seats also available. I entered into the college by paying donation amount as I didn't qualify in EAMCET. There is no interview process but I spoke with the college Principal for selecting the domain I am interested in. If joined early then there will be a counselling process involved.

The course curriculum is fine but it has low standards. In engineering these low standards are not preferred. No it doesn't focus on practical learning at all. There are no research initiatives taken by the institute. There are no elective options available. The college prepares lot of postures and banners about the college and publicize well. If the same concentration is made on the students they could break the records.

The college doesn't provide any internship opportunities and it won't even support but in many colleges internship is made a part of curriculum and our college also should make it mandatory as state government made a law that three internships are mandatory. I didn't do any internship in my graduation which was a draw back during my placement. As i didn't do any internship I didn't get any stipend.

The placements in our college is not at all good. I have graduated in my college two years ago. I didn't get my placement and none of my friends also got it. I am still in search of a job in Bangalore. Out of 100 students only 40 students get placed. The major companies that come to our college are HP, TCS, WIPRO etc., Even though they recruit initially later they remove them after training period.

The fees that I paid is Twenty five thousand rupees per year. As my home is a bit near to the college. I used to travel by the college bus and there is a separate fee for bus and even a separate fee for hostel. It's been two years that i graduated from the college and I am not sure whether prices are increased but my sub juniors said that there is a lot of change in the fee structure that their juniors are paying.

The teachers that they recruit are freshers and they don't pay them high salaries and they show all their frustation in the teaching methods. They are qualified but not highly qualified. They don't even have much experience. They are interactive and friendly but some teachers show partiality on merit students. The standard of teaching is just average and many implementation methods could be put into use.
