Course Curriculum Overview
I have always wanted to become a doctor so I started my preparation for the entrance test early on. The student-faculty ratio is nearly 2:25. All the faculties have the qualifications required for teaching at a medical college, as most of them are doctors themselves. The teaching of some of the faculty is excellent whereas some subpar. The term exams are conducted timely. The exams have a moderate difficulty level and they require diligent study efforts to pass them.
Internships Opportunities
There is 1 year of internship offered by the college. Since it's a medical college, there is no concept of campus placements as such. During internships, the interns are usually rotated in various departments across the calendar year where they have to perform their duties.
Fees and Financial Aid
The half-yearly fees in the first year are 84,450/-. It is hiked by 10% every year. There are various Scholarship schemes available to the students if they so wish. these are usually government scholarships for the various reservation categories.
Campus Life
There are 2 major events conducted in the college: The Official Introductory Event and The Freshers Event. There are no other 'fests' as such conducted by the college itself. However, this year there is going to be a centennial event around November-December. The Classrooms (lecture theatres are spacious and have A/Cs installed to provide relief from the excruciating heat during the summers. The College has a dedicated multisports indoor complex as well as a bif Football ground, a cricket pitch, a Volleyball court, a Lawn Tennis Court, a Basketball Court and a Futsal Court, all completely accessible to the students most of the time.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are double sharing during the first year and are upgraded to single occupancy from the second year onwards. The hostel has 3 messes inside its premises. The Meal quality is sporadic, it's sometimes very good whereas sometimes it's sub-par. Registration for the hostel rooms can be done by visiting the Hostel superintendent or the Hostel warden's office. The Hostel Fee is 39k per annum and 19k extra for if the student wishes to install an A/C.
Admission
Admission to the college can be availed by clearing NEET-UG exam with a good AIR (between 5000-10000). The form for NEET can be accessed from NTA website. The registrations for the exam usually begin in Nov-Dec. The fees varies according to the reservation category of the candidate. For availing the reservation benefits, the candidate must produce the appropriate documents citing his/her reservation category ( in my case it was a OBC Certificate ). The Admission process is done via the NTA counselling which is done online. After the allotment of seat, the candidate has to report to the college within the prescribed dates with the essential documents.
