NIT R in a glance

I chose this course because of my rank. I heard about mathematics and computing and thought of choosing this. Faculty: student ratio is 1:30. Here every faculty is highly qualified and are working on very great and interesting projects such as AI, ML... etc. Term exams are held in 2 months interval mid-sem and end-sem. Exams are moderate if one is regular with his/her studies. It is a fun experience as well.

Accenture, Barclays, Microsoft and many other companies come to campus offering internships mostly for SWE roles. Core internships are also offered. One needs to maintain an 8+ pointer cgpa to get good internship opportunities.

B. Tech students are offered internships after 2nd year and placements after 3rd year while Integrated msc students have to wait for another year before getting internships. Microsoft, Google, Accenture and many other companies visit the campus. It is advised to select branches carefully because some companies allow particular branches. 95-100% of placements happen every year. According to my degree, I am thinking of joining the IT sector.

Studying in any government is always cost-effective, so it is in NITR as well. There are scholarship opportunities for financially weak students as well as for meritorious students. About scholarship, everything can be known by the Faculty advisor.

Campus life is the best at NITR. Fests are conducted every 2 to 3 months. To name some it is Innovision -tech fest, cultural fest... And many others. NITR has great library facilities. New and updated books are provided. The library is Air conditioned. First-year classes were conducted in AC rooms with all modern technologies. Inter-NIT sports meet is held every year... There are various sports domains to take part in. NITR is known for its great club culture. APS, Webwiz, Opencode, GTA, Udaan... and many more.

I stay in CVR. This hostel is considered to be the best in terms of food and other facilities. Rooms are very small. A room is alloted with 2 students. Registration process is easy. It is advised to come early and complete the registration process after college admission. Hostels are affordable.

A student is eligible if he/she has passed class 12 and qualified for JEE. The application form comes from the NTA site. I was in the general category. The admission process is smooth. No improvements are required so far. Jossa and Csab both are conducted well.
